Cami woke up on the day before the wedding with a clear mind. Everything was going incredibly well. The wedding plans were all finalised. The deal with Klaus was going well. She had spent plenty of time with her friends, and every day, she would make time with her daughters. Right now, she was in her room talking to Lilly while Lexi sat in the middle, playing with a toy of hers.

"Don't you just wish it could always be like this?"-L

"You have no idea, but things have changed, and we have a life to get back to in Savannah."-C

"I know that, but I really wish we could just move back here with everyone else."-L

"That'd mean leaving Brody and Victoria and all the others. I'm sure you don't want that."-C

"But I don't want to leave everyone here either. That entire year, not a day, went by where I didn't think of moving back here."-L

"I know, I feel the exact same. I really wish we could move back here."-C

"Then why don't we? I want to be here, you want to be here, Aiden wants to be here, and Lexi won't remember Savannah."-L

"Because–"-C
Cami spoke in a soft voice.
"Because everything's changed."-C

"In a good way. There's no one trying to kill us. Hayley and Elijah are getting married. Everyone's getting along, and there's no petty arguments going on. Everything's going great."-L

"You're right, but I have a job back in Savannah, and we have a good life there. You're doing good in school, and you have friends there."-C

"I know."-L
Lilly started getting off the bed, slipping back on her shoes.
"But please just think about it. Anyway, Brody's waiting for me. I'll see you later. Love you."-L

"Love you too."-C
Cami watched as her daughter left the room after placing a small kiss on Lexi's forehead.

The blonde began playing around with her youngest daughter until a knock was heard on the door.
"Did you forget something, Lil?"-C

Cami's question was met with silence and the small sound of the door opening.
"Hey, Cami."-CF

"Hi, Caroline. What are you doing here?"-C
"Nothing much. I was just bored. Thought I'd pop by. I hope I'm not interrupting anything."-CF

"Oh, come on in. I was actually just playing around with Lexi."-C

Caroline smiled as she sat on the other end of Cami's bed, watching the toddler who was chuckling at something to herself.
"You have the cutest baby. She really looks like you."-CF

"Thanks."-C
Cami studied Caroline's face for a few seconds and narrowed her eyes.
"What's on your mind? You came here to tell me something, right?"-C

"Yes, I– how did you?"-CF
"I have a bachelors in psychology, Caroline. I can easily interpret what your actions really mean."-C
"Right, I forgot about that."-CF

Caroline began fiddling around with a ring on her finger, which Cami had picked up on.
"Caroline, what are you so scared to ask?"-C
"So I got asked to be someone's date at the wedding tomorrow, and I'm planning to say yes, but I wanted to run it by you before I told him."-CF

Cami's breath got caught in her throat. Was it Klaus who asked her? She silently cursed herself for even being surprised. Of course, he had asked her. They had history long before she even met him. She should've known Klaus wasn't over Caroline, but what she couldn't understand is why she cared. Why would she care if Klaus asked another girl to be his date? It was all fake anyway, right? So why was she expecting something more?
