"B--ch! You think I'm your slave!! WAKE UP!"
The voice was familiar, but I just could not place it. There was no one I had met in this world that cussed. But to be fair, I had only met the nobles.
Just as I was wondering what the person meant, I felt a sudden splash of cold water. I jumped up and opened my eyes at the cold.
"Ungrateful brat! Get the f--k up before child services shows up. They already forced me to take you to school," Leiah, my earth mother, spat in my face.
What is going on?! The last time I checked, I was almost abducted and then poisoned. Of all the people I could have met in my hallucinations, why her?
"Are you real?" I asked, confused.
"Stupid girl. I expected you to crack, but not so soon. Get to school b--ch," Leiah yelled and smacked my head.
Maybe it's just a dream? But the cold water felt extremely real. Maybe dreams are always this vivid?
Lifting up my soaking wet night dress, I went to the loose floorboard that acted as my treasure trove. I stared at the first two novels safely tucked away. Where was the third one?
Maybe all that happened with the gods and Anuzyn was a dream. But I remember it way too vividly. I remember daily things, meaning it was not fake. It couldn't be...
"Gods, if you hear me right now. Please tell me what is happening," I muttered as I got ready for school.
Sending one last stink eye to the gods, I packed my bags and attempted to leave without being noticed. Unfortunately, Leiah and Brett, my old father, spotted me. They hurled insults and the kitchen utensils at me.
The entirety of the apartment reeked of alcohol. I had forgotten how toxic my old life was. I really needed to get out of here.
Remembering the directions to the school took a while, but i managed to make it. I rushed through the gates, warranting a few stares. I entered the first classroom I saw and looked for a calendar.
"If I find the date, maybe I'll find a way to leave," I sighed.
"It's 18th November 2014,"
That was three weeks before the day I passed away. Originally, I never came to school this day because Leiah was in a particularly horrible mood and locked me in the house. I grimaced at the memory.
"That makes it so much easier. Wait...! Who are you?!" I asked, surprised.
Last I checked, I was a social outcast and a bully magnet. The only people who talked to me were bullies. The boy in front of me was slowly turning red. I felt like i should know him somehow.
He didn't look like a bully buti wasn't going to judge a book by it's cover especially not in this school. I crossed my arms and glared at him.
"I'm not here to bully you. I heard you ask a question, so I answered. I'm Matt," the boy answered shyly.
My pathetic heart skipped a beat at the sound of his voice. I could feel myself heating up. What is going on?
"You must be a new kid. That is the only explanation," I said while examining him.
He had a plain look to him. He was a red head with freckles and hazel eyes. He looked like the kind who turned quite a few heads. I had never noticed him before, but to be fair, I never paid much attention.
"I've been in your class for six y... never-mind. Before you ask, I wasn't stalking you. I just saw you walk in here, and I wanted to say hi," he mumbled the last part while rocking on his heels.
