I sat in my chair facing Dottore with a notebook and pen in hand. Keeping him was going to be a tricky situation but after a couple hours of nulling it over I had a bit of a plan made up.
He'd have to repay his debt for what he had done and that would take time, but he would live.
I had also realized it was more than just his potential which let him live for now. Something in my gut was telling me to keep him around and one thing I would not do is ignore a gut feeling.
Nonetheless, this wouldn't be easy. I wouldn't trust him to take care of my pet cat. So trusting him to do anything else was going to take time. His life wasn't enough to get him under my control so I needed more.
Which meant I'd need to do some research in the evening.
The night had progressed quietly until about four in the morning.
"Oh god..."
My eyes flashed to the side.
Dottore let out another groan as he sat up. His hand reached up to touch his head only to discover they were bound. He dropped his wrists into his lap looked at them and then began looking around the room.
I didn't speak at first only waiting for him to notice me.
When he finally did he laughed.
"Well, shit." A small grin crept up his face.
"And here I thought you'd be another easy kill."
I put my pen and book down crossing my arms.
"I squished that young man like a bug. First I killed his men. I showed him exactly what I'd do to him." His eyes shun that crazy gleam, "I was going to do the same to you. Make you watch as everyone around you suffered. Then I'd take your organs one by one and hang your pretty little body outside for all to see."
His words didn't surprise me.
This wasn't the first time someone had threatened to string up my dead body and it definitely wouldn't be the last time either.
I didn't react only leaning further back into my chair.
Dottore let out a sigh at my lack of emotion, "You'll regret keeping me alive."
I hummed and picked up the gun beside me, "You're right."
Pointing it directly at him his eyes widened in surprise.
"Bang."
I shot another blank.
The man sat there frozen for a few moments before bursting out into laughter.
"Ohhh you're just horrible." He laughed.
I couldn't hold back the small grin.
I had put another in when he was knocked out because I assumed he'd wake up eventually. I was going to have to scare him a little but I wanted to give the man a chance. If he screwed it up I'd kill him. There was no need for me to lose my life because he may have had some future worth.
After all, if I were dead there would be no point.
"I truly thought you'd be actually easier to get rid of." He said letting out another sigh.
I raised an eyebrow, "You thought an arms dealer would be an easy kill?"
"Ah... yes I see why that may not make sense but that other one..."
"You got lucky. The boy was in a bad spot and anyone who would be foolish enough to take the chance would probably have succeeded in killing him."
He slammed his head into the back of my bed closing his eyes.
"Shit..."
He didn't say anything for a bit. The realization of what was to come must have been settling. The two of us sat in silence and I went back to writing in my book.
I felt like I had a steady plan now. Time had gone by quickly and although I was tired I still needed to go see the others with Dottore.
"So what now?" He finally asked.
I shrugged, "Well your life might end in the next few hours or it might not."
"You're fairly blunt don't you think?"
"Would you prefer I lied and said everything will be alright?" I inquired.
He laughed some more, "No. I didn't expect you would."
"Good." I replied, "Then you shouldn't expect too much more either. Whether your life ends or not is up to you, Doctor."
He shook his head sinking back into his spot a bit.
"So cruel."
I took my phone off the desk and opened up my contacts.
"Well then. Let's see what fate has for you today."
