"I'm glad we got you all set up for the baby." Will looks over to me and says as we are walking back to the truck. Him holding the paper bags from the store.
I've never been the women of the house hold before. My mom died when I was 15 and we had maids to do everything after that. Going through the store to meal plan felt different. I felt separated from the other wives shopping around.
"Yes, Doctor Tucker seems to be a nice man." I smile back.
"He's the only Doctor I trust anymore, he delivered me and all my siblings and never pushes anything on you." Will's voice seems to have changed. It sounds more upbeat and excited now. I wonder if he's getting more comfortable around me?
Will puts the bags below my feet and helps me into the truck then walks to the other side to his door.
By the time we leave town and head for home it's already 4. Being pregnant and walking around a lot don't seem to add up quite well.
"You seem tired" Will says looking over at me.
"Oh, just a little" I let out a little laugh and return my focus on the window.
"You can take a nap on the way home, here put your feet on my lap and lay back." I give him a look of question. Did he really just ask me to do that?
I look back at him and can tell he is trying to comprehend what he just told me.
So I slowly take my shoes off and turn my back to the window next to me. Carefully moving my feet on top of his lap. It feels nice to finally lay back, but the sudden awkwardness I feel is what gets me.
Leaning my head back against the window I lightly close my eyes. Feeling the last bit of the warm sun on my face, with a soft breeze from the half open window. That's when the darkness hits me.
Feeling moved is the only way I describe it. Am I moving? Am I still in the truck?
Carefully opening my eyes I look to see I'm in the house and heading up the stairs. Up the stairs?!?
Feeling trapped by something I turn my head and see the arms. It's Will he is carrying me to my bed.
He released me from his arms as he laid me on my bed. I don't think he realizes that I am very much awake, but oh well.
Hearing him leave I roll over on my side and let the darkness consume me once again.
Waking up I realize it is now 6:00. Oh no dinner! Quickly getting up and fixing my self I run down the stairs into the kitchen.
Only for me to be frightened by a surprise.
"You were sleeping so soundly I didn't want to wake you. I hope it's alright I started dinner." Will was standing in front of the stove with a pan in front of him.
"Oh well thank you. Sorry for sleeping so late, I don't know why I'm so tired." You have a baby inside you that's why, I thought to myself.
"Your all good. Do you want to chore with me tonight? Since I'll be getting a late start?" He looks over and asks me, his green eyes showing he wants me to yes.
"I don't know how much help I'll be, but I'll give it a shot." I let out a laugh and so does he.
Helping him finish up, soon dinner is on the table. Steak, potatoes, and asparagus. Looking at it I hear my stomach growl. I didn't realize how hungry I was till now.
"Let's say grace." Will says as he folds his hands. I gladly fold my hands and look down. It's been years since I have actually sat down at a table with someone and talked. My father and brother just sat and ate their food. The only talk being of business and stocks.
Once dinner is done I quickly gather the plates and begin washing them up. It's the least I can do since I slept so late.
"Leave the dishes till later, we got chores to do." He yells over from the front door.
"Oh ok" I say back.
