"Here! The first-ever invitation is for you..." Mingyu announces, a flashy card landing on Seokmin's desk with a flourish. Seokmin adjusts his glasses and peers up to find Mingyu smiling, a drink in hand.
"Invitation? For what?" Seokmin leans back in his armchair, curiosity piqued as he opens the card, scanning its contents.
"It's a housewarming party thing, but Wonwoo thought giving cards would be cute, so I went for it," Mingyu explains, casually leaning against Seokmin's work desk. Seokmin can't help but chuckle at his friend's enthusiasm.
"If Wonwoo hyung suggested it, you'd probably even start plucking stars from the sky, right?" he teases, his gaze shifting from the card to Mingyu, a playful glint in his eyes.
"That's impossible—although, on second thought, I might actually..." Mingyu's voice trails off, a mischievous smile playing on his lips as he absentmindedly fiddles with his hair.
"You should come there on time and with your husband; I still haven't met him," Mingyu suddenly bursts out, his excitement palpable as he hops down from the table, shaking Seokmin in his chair.
"Yeah, yeah, I will," Seokmin responds with a laugh, gently pushing Mingyu away as he rises from his seat.
"Where is Wonwoo? Didn't he come to work?" Seokmin inquires, glancing over at the empty table beside him. "He's busy with preparations. Let's go for lunch," Mingyu suggests, leading the way out of their office with a grin.
"So, we are thinking of going with a sky blue theme because obviously, it's Wonwoo's favorite," Mingyu's voice gradually becomes a blur for Seokmin as they ride the lift together.
The ambiance of their office exuded modernity and elegance, with sleek furnishings and tasteful décor adorning the spacious interior. Stepping into the vast expanse of their building, one might be forgiven for assuming the CEO's predilection for the grey and black combination bordered on obsession, yet it only served to enhance the overall sense of sophistication and class.
Seokmin had initially joined their office as an intern, enticed by the promise of valuable experience. However, the allure of the environment, coupled with the gratification of the work and the satisfying wage, had convinced him to transition into a permanent role.
Moreover, life within the office was fulfilling, with a supportive atmosphere and ample opportunities for growth.
"Geez, you talk a lot," Seokmin says with an exaggerated sigh, aiming to rile Mingyu up, and he succeeds when Mingyu shoots him a side-eye.
"Rude," Mingyu hisses under his breath, pinching Seokmin's side as they place their order. Walking towards their usual seat with their order in hand, Seokmin sighs, taking a sip of his drink.
"So, did you finally lose your virginity?" The choked cough from Seokmin causes Mingyu to panic, hastily patting Seokmin on the back. "What the heck!" Seokmin shrieks, looking at Mingyu with wide eyes, who stares back clueless.
"What?" Mingyu says with a shrug. "Why did you assume I'm a virgin?" Seokmin says, squinting at Mingyu, though he was one too.
"You aren't?" Mingyu raises his brow at Seokmin, who clicks his tongue at Mingyu. "Exactly! Being a virgin isn't a bad thing," Mingyu says, and Seokmin sits quietly, munching on his sandwich a little too aggressively.
"You've been married for, what, two months already! You should spice things up, take your husband out on romantic dates, shower him with kisses, sneak in some make-out sessions in the kitchen, surprise him with thoughtful gestures, take a day off and just spend it cuddled up together on the couch, or even go catch a movie..." Mingyu gesticulates wildly, brimming with enthusiasm. Seokmin feels his jaw dropping at Mingyu's animated suggestions, but deep down, he knows his friend is onto something.
As Mingyu's words sink in, Seokmin's mind races with possibilities. He won't pressure Joshua into anything he's not ready for, but he realizes he can definitely make more effort to show his love and affection. And after experiencing the rush of kissing Joshua yesterday, Seokmin can't deny the urge to do it all over again.
"You are right, but I don't know where to start.." seokmin trails off and mingyu nods his head like a professional. "But I do!" He says sipping on his drink before looking at seokmin with curious eyes.
"What does he likes the most?" Mingyu questions and seokmin starts to think. "he mostly spends his time either painting, or trimming the garden plants and sometimes we watch soap episodes together.." he answers and mingyu nods.
"That ." He starts off before sighing, "buy him a gift.." mingyu says and seokmin just stared at him.
"What should I buy?"
"Seokmin, he is your husband not my husband, you should know what to buy.." mingyu says with a dramatic sigh as his phone suddenly goes off, a smile appears in his face when Wonwoo's number pops up on the screen. "Make sure to come for the party.."
"Maybe flowers or food would do, because I always try to regular buy wonwoo his favourite steak from this one shop that he likes.." mingyu says standing up to receive the call as he walks away leaving seokmin alone at the their table.
"Food or flowers?" He pounders on the suggestion before walking out of the cafe alone knowing it would take mingyu more time to get off his phone.
"Maybe this would be the best.."
