"No! It will look so bad on me," Seokmin whines as he stares at the dye that Joshua had prepared for him. Today was the day Mingyu had invited him to the party, and Joshua suggested a 'change,' proposing that Seokmin dye his hair.
"It won't," Joshua insists, holding the bowl in one hand and Seokmin's hand in the other.
"But--"
"No buts!" Joshua interrupts, giving his husband a firm look as he guides him to the chair placed in front of the bathroom mirror.
"Do you not trust me?" Joshua asks, his tone gentle yet persuasive as he helps Seokmin into the chair and wraps the apron around his neck. Seokmin sighs, not because he doesn't trust Joshua but because he's nervous about dyeing his hair for the first time.
"It's not that I don't trust you," Seokmin explains softly, leaning back in the chair. "It's just... it's my first time dyeing my hair, and I'm worried it might turn out bad."
"Nothing could ever look bad on you," Joshua reassures him, bending down to whisper in his ear. "You look handsome in everything." He places a kiss on Seokmin's cheek before donning the gloves and beginning to apply the dye to Seokmin's hair.
Seokmin closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, trying to relax as Joshua's fingers work through his hair, coating each strand with the dye. The gentle, rhythmic motion is surprisingly soothing, and Seokmin starts to feel a bit more at ease.
"See? It's not so bad," Joshua says softly, sensing Seokmin's growing calmness. "Just a little color to spice things up for the party."
Seokmin opens one eye and glances at Joshua. "What if it looks weird? What if I don't like it?"
Joshua chuckles. "If you don't like it, we'll change it back. Simple as that. But trust me, you'll look amazing."
Joshua finishes applying the dye and sets a timer. "Now, we wait," he says, pulling up a chair next to Seokmin. "Got any good stories to tell while we wait?"
Seokmin laughs, feeling more relaxed. "Well, there was this one time Mingyu and I tried to cook..."
The two of them chat and laugh as the dye sets, the time passes quickly. When the timer goes off, Joshua stands up and gently tilts Seokmin's head back over the sink, rinsing out the dye with warm water. The water runs clear, and Joshua wraps a towel around Seokmin's head.
"Trust me," Joshua says softly, patting Seokmin's head. "However you look, you'll always be beautiful to me." He then unwraps the towel from Seokmin's head, and Seokmin bites his lip as he stares at his reflection.
The ginger hair is perfect for him, with wet strands falling over his forehead and droplets clinging to the ends. "See! It suits you so well! You look amazing!" Joshua exclaims, wrapping his arms around Seokmin's neck and hugging him.
Seokmin chuckles, nodding in agreement; even he can't deny that the hair color complements him. "Thank you," Seokmin says, tilting his head to peck Joshua on the lips.
"Now let's get dressed.." Joshua says as he steps out of the bathroom seokmin following behind as they both got dressed quickly.
Seokmin was sitting on the couch, scrolling through his phone. He was wearing a blue turtleneck that hugged his frame perfectly, paired with sleek black slacks. The outfit wasn't overly fancy but was polished enough for a housewarming party. He glanced at the time, his brow furrowing slightly, and was about to call for Joshua when Joshua stepped out of their bedroom.
