THE FIRST QUIDDITCH match of the season. The October air brought a light shade of pink to my cheeks, the breeze making me wrap my black school sweater around me tightly. As Pansy and I walked up the stairs of the Slytherin stands, I started to feel out of breath. Even though my shortness of breath was a combination of my recent smoking, and the sharp chilly air, I decided I would cut back on the smoking.

"Merlin, are there any seats left?" I asked Pansy, as we neared one of the top benches.

It was the first match of the season after all, so everyone showed out in support of Slytherin versus Gryffindor.

"Here," Pansy told me, leading the way to two empty seats in the crowd. As I followed her, I realized we were now sitting next to a group of first years.

"Lillian!"

"Oliver!" I smiled back to the young boy standing beside me. I hadn't seen him since the beginning of school.

"You can call me Lily, you know." I told him. His brown eyes beamed up at me.

Pansy gave me a look that said, who?

"Oliver, this is my friend Pansy. Pansy, this is Oliver." I introduced the two.

Pansy waved at Oliver, who smiled shyly back.

"Is your boyfriend on the team?" Oliver asked.

I let out a sigh. "Mattheo's not my boyfriend, Oliver."

"He's captain." Pansy winked at Oliver. I hit her on the arm.

"Well I want to watch him kick Harry Potter's ass." Oliver said.

My eyes widened when the first year cursed. "What's wrong with Harry?" I asked Oliver.

"My brother asked for his autograph last year. He never gave it to him." Oliver stated.

I smiled to myself. I wish I had the problems of a first year. It was weird, standing next to him, years apart. I missed being that young, starting Hogwarts for the first time. Watching Harry and Draco play in their first ever Quidditch matches.

"You should definitely ask for Mattheo's autograph." I told Oliver.

Madam Hooch blew her whistle, signalling the start of the game. I cheered as the Slytherin team got the first quaffle through Gryffindor's hoops. The game was exciting, as all Slytherin v. Gryffindor games usually were.

I could see Ron Weasley guarding their goalpost, looking confident as ever.

Draco was flying around for the snitch. Mattheo was easy to spot with his Slytherin captains jumper.

When Gryffindor called for a time-out, the score was tied.

As I looked down at the players on the ground, I could see Katie Bell ignoring Harry talking to their team. She was staring up into the stands, looking right at us.

"You should ask her to Hogsmeade." I whisper Pansy. The first trip this year would be in November.

Pansy bit her lip, but smiled lightly. "Do you think?"

"Definitely."

When Madam Hooch blew her whistle, the time-out ended, and the teams were back in the air. Ron Weasley wasn't guarding the Gryffindor posts, this time. They switched him with Cormac McLaggen. I cheered lightly. Ever since the first day of Care for Magical Creatures, he was always particularly nice during class.

I watched as Mattheo threw a quaffle towards Cormac, and it just nearly passed him and went into their goal post. We all cheered.

"Go green team!" Pansy sarcastically cheered beside me.

The score was 60 to 50, Slytherin in the lead.

Harry and Draco were both close to catching the snitch many times. I watched with anticipation. When Adrian Pucey hit a bludger at Ginny Weasley's arm, I winced. We lost points for a penalty, and the score went back to tied.

Eventually, Draco and Harry spotted the snitch. They flew all around the pitch, but Harry seemed  distracted by Draco the entire time. Draco finally caught the snitch, and the Slytherin stands erupted in a loud shouts and clapping.

I grabbed Pansy's wrist in excitement, as we quickly ran down the stairs of the stand with the rest of the students to run onto the pitch.

As we neared the field, my smile slowly started to dissapear when we caught up with a crowd of students who were no longer cheering. In front of the crowd were a group of Gryffindor and Slytherin players, talking. As we got closer, I realized they weren't happily talking, and the group of Slytherin players were our friends.

I watched as Mattheo approached Cormac McLaggen. I couldn't hear any words exchanged, but as the crowd of students began chanting, "Fight! Fight! Fight!" I knew this wasn't good. I could see Mattheo lung at Cormac, but it was hard to see behind a few tall students.

I quickly pushed my way through them. I stood beside a sweaty Enzo and Blaise, in shock as Mattheo threw punch after punch at Cormac.

Then, Cormac threw a punch at Mattheo, hitting him right in the jaw. My jaw dropped. Just then, Draco came pushing through the crowd and threw a punch at Cormac.

"No!" I yelled, as Enzo suddenly joined in, tackling one of Cormacs friends.

I looked around the crowd, wondering where the professors were. Madam Hooch. Anybody that could stop this. The chanting students really weren't helping.

Deciding to take matters into my own hands, I quickly went to grab Cormac's arm to stop him. As Cormac he threw his elbow back to throw a punch at Mattheo, his elbow collided with my chin. My hand immediately went to my mouth, shocked. Not to mention it hurt. Mattheo saw this and instantly stopped fighting. He looked at me, his eyes looked like they were filled with concern. Cormac took this opportunity to throw a cheap shot, but in an instant, Mattheo looked angry. As if he were seeing red, he tackled Cormac, throwing more heavy punches to Cormac face until it was slowly becoming unrecognizable.

"Stop it!" I quickly yelled at Mattheo.

"What is this- What's going on here?"

"Stop this immediately!"

I looked up at the familar voice. Professor McGonagall stared at us in astonishment, her mouth hanging open. A frightened Madam Hooch stood beside her.

Enzo had his arm warpped a Gryffindor's neck, which the boy quickly swatted off of him. Draco was standing next to them, Mattheo and I were hovered over Cormacs body on the ground. They all had bloodied knuckles and noses, busted lips, but it certainly appeared like we started the fight.

"Malfoy, Berkshire, Riddle, Black, in my office." Proffesor McGonagall said.

"Me?!" I gaped.

"Now!" McGonagall demanded.

I lowered my head, following McGonagall.
