Some years after this day, we were sitting on the grass outisde where we used to sit together at night the weight of my years were pressing heavily upon me. The once vibrant colors of the forest around us have dulled, mirroring the fading vitality within me. The leaves rustle softly in the gentle breeze, a sound that once brought me joy but now feels like a distant whisper of a life slipping away.

You were sitting behind me, your tail wrapped around my waist, your head resting on my back. You were probably chilling. Your grip filled with a mixture of concern and unwavering love. Your presence was a comforting anchor in this sea of uncertainty. My hands, now wrinkled and trembling, fumble with the edicts I hold. Each one a testament to the life I've lived, the decisions I've made, and the legacy I will leave behind.

The sun was raising up, casting long shadows that stretch across the forest floor. The golden light bathed us in a warm glow, a stark contrast to the chill I feel deep within my bones. I took a deep breath, the air tinged with the earthy scent of the forest, and trying to steady my racing thoughts.

"I never thought it would come to this," I whispered, my voice barely audible. "So much left undone, so many dreams unfulfilled."

I felt someone sitting in front of me. I removed my gaze away from m eddicts to see who could it be, it was Baiheng. She waited first for me to notice her. As she saw me, she raised her hand and put her hand on my head. She smiled "Yingxing..." she began, her voice calm and soothing, "I know it feels like there's so much left undone. But look at what you have accomplished. You've touched so many lives, including mine and Yinyuéjun's. Your dreams have inspired others, and they will continue to do so."

I put the edicts away and rubbed my caulaused hands as I sighed. "But it's not enough, Baiheng. There was so much more I wanted to do."

She moved her hand away from my head and put it on my hands. She nodded, understanding. "I know. And it's okay to feel that way. But remember, it's not just the big dreams that matter. It's the little moments, the kindness you've shown, the love you've given. Those are the things that truly make a difference."

I kept quiet, I raised my head to look into her eyes. Her green eyes, like the first breath of spring, held the promise of new beginnings and the mystery of untold stories. They were windows to a soul as deep and boundless as the rolling hills, where dreams and reality intertwined in a tapestry of vibrant hues.

"I would love you in this world and the next, regardless of your sins or faults. My love for you is boundless, like that of a mother to her son, a companion, and a friend. Even as time slips away and shadows grow long, know this: others would love you too" She said as she kept looking into my eyes, trying to hide her trembling lips with her smile.

I smiled as I noticed her behavior. She was hidding her pain behind a smile. Her smile was a delicate mask, a fragile facade of joy. It curved gently, like the crescent moon, yet behind it lay a storm of unspoken sorrows. Each upward turn of her lips was a silent plea, a whisper of resilience in the face of unseen battles. Her eyes, though bright, held a depth of melancholy, a testament to the tears she never shed. In her smile, one could glimpse the strength of a soul that chose to shine despite the shadows within.
