It was a wild night at the club, and I was feeling a bit tipsy from the pre-drinks as I arrived at Heaven. I made my way to the back of the club, where I knew my friends would be sitting at our usual table. George and Grace were engrossed in a conversation and hadn't noticed me yet. However, Max loudly shouting my name caught their attention.
"Hey, hun," I said, giving Max a side hug. However, our embrace was quickly interrupted by George and Grace getting out of the booth and giving me a big group hug. "I'm so proud of you," they exclaimed. "We knew you could do it." "I got you a passion fruit martini," I heard from different people. I already knew that Grace said the last one, as she is known for getting drinks for people.
"I love you all so much," I replied, making sure to give them an extra squeeze as we broke apart. I downed my drink and decided it was my turn to buy another round. Max and I walked to the bar, grabbing everyone's usuals as well as a couple of tequila shots for each of us.
As the night wore on and we danced to the music, Grace and I caught up on each other's lives and the latest drama. When it was time to go home around 3 am, George and I linked arms and started walking together since our flats were close by. We chatted about our usual topics - he told me about his YouTube channel, and I mentioned that I'm thinking about making an album.
Suddenly, I remembered something and asked him, "Hey, Clarkey, do you remember your friend Arthur, the good-looking one?" George looked at me and asked, "Which Arthur? I know two Arthurs."
I was hardly thinking straight at that point, way too drunk to understand it properly, so I stuttered my words a bit and said, "Mr. Television, I believe that's the one."
"Oh yeah, Arthur F. Why do you ask?" George said.
"Well, I'm thinking of having a party this weekend, and I want you to invite him. And the other Arthur too, actually. I need to speak to him as well," I said, in reply.
George looked at me with a knowing glance. "About music, you idiot. Oh my god," he sighed a little, almost with relief.
"Yeah, can I bring some others as well though?" George asked.
"Of course you can," I replied. "Anyways, this is me," I said, looking up at my building.
I gave George a hug and a quick kiss on the cheek. "Thanks for today, George. It was fun. And don't forget to ask the Arthurs, okay?"
"I will. Bye, Car," George said with a nod, walking off.
"Text me when you get home," I shouted after him, wanting to make sure he made it home safely.
