When Alex woke up on Sunday Morning. The week before in service trainings. First thing he saw when he checked his phone was that he had a text from Zack. Which wasn't abnormal. Him and Zack talked daily at this point.
Zack: Hey...good morning cutie. 😍 I have a bunch I have to do today. I am moving my last trailer full of stuff into my new apartment. Can I interest you in a date tonight? You-Me Dinner at 7?
Alex busted into a grin. Alex was crushing on Zack.Hard. Each time Zack was in Baltimore over the summer him and Alex met up for coffee or something, leaving Alex swooning over him everytime. Him and Zack had kissed a couple times, but nothing more than that.
Alex quickly tapped out a response.
Alex:Sounds good handsome 😘. Where are you taking me?
It took him a half hour or so to respond.
Zack:You like Italian right?🤨
Alex: Yup! Who doesn't love some pasta!?🍝
It was all Alex could do to not jump up and down in excitement. He reminded himself to calm down. Alex spent the day in his studio, working on some music of his own. He was feeling a strong urge to write for himself lately, he was working on some lyrics and writing a catchy guitar hook.
The day seemed to drag on.He probably checked the clock a thousand times. Finally around 6, Alex started to get ready. After spending way too long in the shower, He realized didn't know how he should dress. He shot Zack another text.
Alex:Casual or fancy restaurant?
Zack:Which would you prefer? 🤨
Alex:Casual.
Zack didn't need to take Alex to a fancy place to impress him. They would both be much more relaxed at a casual place anyways.
Zack:Casual it is! 😉
Alex threw on a nice pair of jeans and a Nirvana tshirt. At around 5 minutes to 7, he saw headlights pull up in front of his house. Alex left his house to meet Zack in the driveway. As Alex approached Zack's car, Zack emerged and hurried around to open the door for him.
Instead of getting in, Alex simply stood there and looked at him.They locked eyes. Zack looked confused.
"What's wrong?" Zack suddenly looked nervous. His strong hand grabbed Alex's shoulder.
"You are just so....hot, how am I lucky enough to be going on a date with you?" Alex said with a smile.
Zack smirked. "Oh, my charms are working, and you are finding yourself enchanted by me?"
Alex rolled his eyes. "Ok, don't flatter yourself handsome."
They both laughed as Alex climbed into the car and Zack shut the door.
As they drove they sat in comfortable silence Zack reached over and placed a hand on Alex's knee. Alex blushed, and glanced down at it before returning his eyes to the road.
They parked next to Norma's, a mom and pop place that had managed to survive all the chain restaurants that had invaded town.
"As someone who just moved to Baltimore literally today, I'm surprised you knew about this place! Well done." Alex said, impressed.
