"They want to see you," said the guard, pointing at the direction behind him.I gave him a disgusted look. "The band, seriously?"
"They're the ones who requested you to come. I'm just doing my job, lady."
I thought for a moment. This could possibly be my chance to confront Alex for what he did to me. This could possibly bring me some closure, before I move with my life, I thought. I was defiantly sure that our time together meant nothing to him. I wanted to give him a piece of my mind. I quickly pulled out my phone to send a text to my sister.
Hi Bianca, I'm just gonna go hit the bar real quick. U guys can head home, I'll just call a cab. Thx again for the concert.
I decided to follow the security guard. He led me backstage, into a corridor, and opened one of the doors along the wall. I set foot into the private room, and there was Alex standing in the middle of it, his back faced towards me. All of the memories immediately came flooding back.
His bandmates were all seated on the couch, drinking beers. They noticed me and stared in awe. I knew that Alex had told them all about me. He turned around as soon as he felt my presence. He smiled and gave me a long look, erupting quiet energy throughout the room. During that time, I quickly began to study him. Between my own shock, as well as the dim stage lights, I wasn't able to get a clear view of his new appearance.
Alex's hair was cut into a neat low fade, and the top was slicked back, with a loose quiff styled on his forehead. He wore a white button up shirt, exposing half of his chest, under a leather jacket. A gold chain hung around his neck. Below a belt with a large gold buckle were legs wrapped in black skinny jeans, followed by Chelsea boots. On his pinky he adorned a chunky silver ring. This immense change of style was nothing like the Alex I once knew, who simply wore collared shirts and pullovers complimented with pairs of white Converse. Behind these vast diversions, his large, soulful eyes remained unchanged. The way they sparkled under the lights was reminiscent of when we first met 6 years ago.
My thoughts and the silence were abruptly inhibited when I heard a voice. It was Alex.
"Kat," he said softy. His voice had grown much deeper and sexier. I felt like I was in love all over again, until I realized the main reason why I was here in the first place.
I riled up all the anger I had bottled up inside and just bursted at him.
"Don't you fucking 'Kat' me, you fucking asshole! You betrayed me in the worst way possible. I thought you cared."
Everyone in the room was taken aback by the intensity of my voice. I felt the guard grabbing my arms and attempting to tug me away.
"Lady, please don't scream. You are being granted a privilege by meeting one of the world's most renowned rock bands. Please calm yourself before I have to take you awa-"
He was interrupted by Alex, his voice now stern and slow.
"Don't. I'm the one who requested you to bring her here. I'll be the one to handle it. Don't you touch her, you can go on with your day."
The guard let go of me. "As you wish."
He exited the room.
"Oh, thank you so much for saving me my prince charming!" I said sarcastically.
Alex attempted to grab my hand. "Kat, please, let me explain. There's a reason why I called only you in here out of thousands."
I swatted his hand away. "Just save it! You only care about your fame. It seems like everything that we've been through means absolutely nothing to you."
I stormed out of the room through the emergency exit door.
