Danielle groaned in annoyance, it was her 7th? 8th? 9th... time on a blind date that her friend set her up on. She had one goal, and it was to find a lover before applying to university. She has been dreaming of finding the 'one', and found herself to be a bit of a hopeless romantic sometimes. But this blind date thing, is definitely not going to work out for her...
She played around with the ice cubes in her fizzy drink, staring at her date. She was badly judging this guy, I mean... who would take a cute girl like her out to a club? For fucks sake, it hasn't even been long since they turned 18. This guy probably wanted to get her drunk, and take her home, although he seemed to be in cloud nine already. This is definitely not going to work out.
"I'm going for a smoke," She informed her date, but looks like he was too busy snorting powder in the corner of the club's bar. She shrugged her shoulders, and left.
Danielle was not actually going for a smoke, she doesn't even smoke. She just wanted to get away, and usually telling your date that you're going out to smoke is a good excuse to dip.
She plugged in her earphones, and scrolled through her music. She wanted to find the right song, maybe some beabadoobee... she clicked on her bea playlist and shuffled it.
Danielle stopped by her favorite skate park, she did not bring her skateboard though. She looked around, the skate park was empty. Perfect. She thought.
She sat on the edge of the railings, listening to music. She was contemplating why her dates always turn out to be such messes. She tried her best to look good tonight, little did she know, she would get stuck with a low life. His name was literally Aaron, she should have known it would not turn out well.
Suddenly, she felt herself startled from a thud. It was a public park, obviously, there would be noise, but it's also 2:38 am.
She looked around, trying to get a hold of the sound, out of curiosity.
And there it was, the source of the noise.
A beautiful girl, with layered dark hair, was it brown or black? It was too dark to notice.
Even from a distance like this, Danielle could see the girl's cat shaped eyes.Danielle watched the girl as she skated around, with a cigarette in her mouth. Her skating skills were intermediate, she could throw in a few tricks here and there, and had great balance of herself.
She stopped by every ten seconds, she would either inhale the cigarette, or put it out and light up another one. To Danielle, she found it to be funny, 1...2...3...4... she counted how many cigarettes the girl has smoked so far.The girl took out her phone, she looked frustrated. Danielle could tell how the girl was feeling from the expressions on her face. Though, almost emotionless, she could see it. Her eyes, were very expressive.
CRACK! The girl smashed the skateboard, breaking it apart. what the fuck? Danielle furrowed her eyebrows in concern. It was surprising how she could smash it, and still keep a straight face, yet her eyes tell different. Thats not the point though, what was so troubling for her to break her skateboard? It looked like an expensive one too.
Danielle got up, she decided to ask if the girl is doing fine. She was an outgoing girl, so it wasn't troubling for Danielle to speak to someone. She couldn't just sit there, it wouldn't hurt her to check up on people.
"Hey... are you okay?" She spoke nervously, biting her lips in concern. Okay, maybe Danielle wasn't as outgoing as she thought she was.
The girl looked up at Danielle, and took a few seconds observing her. After that, she nodded.
But that nod... wasn't convincing.Danielle crouched down, looking at the skateboard. "mm..." She took in information, observing the cracks, and the damage done. "Alright, I think I can replace this one for you. It can't be fixed, but I can replace it for you. There's this skate store I go to, they replace your broken skateboards."
The girl crouched down, she held the broken parts of the skateboard, "It's.. fine." She mumbled under her breath.
"No, really... you can trust me, I'll replace it for you over this weekend." Danielle insisted.
But the girl shook her head, "don't do that, I wont let you." She picked up the broken parts. She held it tightly.
"If you say so..." Danielle muttered, "the offer still stands."
"Thank you." The girl smiled, "Umm..." She took out a drink from her bag, and gave it to Danielle, "It's an energy drink, apple flavored."
Danielle took it, and cracked it open, "apple flavored energy drink...? Okay..." She took a sip, "this tastes great!" She smiled at the girl.
The girl looked away, a small tint of blush pink written all over her face.
Danielle took the girl by hand and sat them down on a railing, she continued to take small sips from the drink, "When I heard apple flavored energy drink, I was a bit concerned."
The girl chuckled, "I'm glad you like it. It's my favorite drink."
Danielle smiled at the sound of the girl giggling like that, she had a soft tone to her chuckle. It was soothing. "I can see why..." she paused before continuing, "So what's your name?"
"Haerin."
"Danielle..."
They shook hands, this was the start of newfound friendship. Danielle could fly from how happy she was, newfound friendship...

apple cider, daerin.
Roman d'amourA daerin fic inspired by bea's apple cider. semi-fluff - first time writing, so excuse the plot holes and mistakes. I'm more of a poet, than a story writer. This is mostly for fun, because a lot of songs tend to remind me of Danielle and Haerin.
