An entire week passed by, Danielle found herself hanging out at the skatepark more often. Even though she always went there daily, she never stayed past 12 am.

But this time, she's been staying way past 12 am. She would sit for an hour or two, waiting for the beautiful girl to come by.

Danielle memorized Haerin's schedule, it was a bit predictable, she comes by at 2-3 am, and stays until 5-6 am. She wondered the reason behind this, was it because she enjoyed watching the sunrise? Or was it because the skatepark tends to be calmer at night?

Before Haerin would reach the skatepark, Danielle would rush out to the 24/7 grocery around 1-1:30 am. She would buy the same thing everytime, apple flavored energy drink - honey butter chips (extra butter) - and marlboro reds.

She stared at her phone, holding the grocery bag. 2:20 am, the phone flashed as she tapped. Haerin should be here soon, she quickly fixed up her hair and her cuffed baggy jeans.

And there she was again, the beautiful girl, Haerin. She smiled slightly as she walked up to Danielle, "Thanks for waiting for me again, Dani."

"It's no problem, Haerin..." Danielle thought that Haerin's name was so nice to say, the vowel to it was satisfying. "Haerin, I got you the usual." She said as she handed the beautiful girl her groceries.

Haerin smiled, and shook her head, "you dont have to do this everyday, you know? I mean I have 4, or 5 unfinished marlboro packs because of you."

"The more the merrier!" Danielle giggled, "about your skateboard. thanks for trusting me... it was supposed to be replaced by today, but the stores taking a bit longer because their stock isn't shipped yet."

"So... you," Danielle handed her skateboard to Haerin, she stood confused, listening as Danielle continued to talk, "you can borrow mine."

"I've been borrowing yours daily, dani."

"Right, I know I know. but, im saying, you can borrow it, for a while, without taking turns and giving it back."

"Dani... I cant do that, I know how much your personal board means to you."

"Cmon, haerin. I'll just get my other board tomorrow, okay?"

"Fine." Haerin grumbled, she took the skateboard and held it. "I'll skate around for a bit... you'll watch me as always, yeah?"

Danielle nodded, now sitting on a railing. She shot a smile at Haerin, watching her as she fixed up her balance on Danielle's board. Her board was a little different than other boards, since it was customized.

Danielle observed Haerin, her skills have gotten so much better in a week. That's impressive, at least, to Danielle, it is... very impressive. She would shoot a few smiles at Haerin whenever she would look back at her, there was this feeling she couldn't shake off about Haerin.

Haerin was done with her session, she was sweating badly, the weather hasn't been doing anybody a favor those days. "Dani, was that good? Did I do well today?" Haerin looked over to her, and sat down beside her.

"You did well," Danielle bit her lip slightly, picking up a drink for Haerin. She cracked it open and gave it to her, "let off some steam."

Haerin nodded, and took a sip. "Wait, I realized something..." She paused, "I never got your number, Dani."

"Oh? Right. Okay." Danielle opened her phone and handed it to Haerin, "save it for me."

Haerin nodded, and saved down her contact. "here, my number."

"Thank you!" Danielle looked down at her phone, "you saved yourself as 'professional skateboarder'? You're so full of yourself today, aren't you?"

Haerin blushed as Danielle teased her, she didn't reply though, she looked away quickly. "Dani, you want one?" She took out another pack of reds, and lit up a cigarette.

Danielle shook her head, "I told you I dont smoke, Haerin."

"Sorry." Haerin exhaled, as she spoke.

Danielle watched Haerin as she smoked, she thought she was weird for staring at her, every chance she's gotten.

Haerin's hair would slip out of her ear every once in a while, she had light hair, so it was not surprising. Danielle reached out her hand, and tucked it back for her, "your hair... it's so soft."

Haerin's cheeks would turn red whenever Danielle would do something like this, Danielle was caring, and looked out for Haerin in the small things. It made her happy.

"Haerin..." Danielle bit her lips, more nervously this time. "I like your hair..."

Haerin put out the cigarette, and looked at Danielle. "You do?" Her cheeks red, she pulled herself closer to Danielle.

"Go ahead," Haerin lowered her head, offering Danielle to touch her hair. Danielle smiled in response, she brushed her fingers through Haerin's hair. Light textured, and soft.

Her hands took a few minutes, getting used to Haerin's soft hair, and when she was done, she reached her hand to Haerin's. Slightly, rubbing their hands against each other.

"I've noticed you've been wearing this sweater more often?" Danielle pointed out, the sweater was black and grey striped, along with some intentional ripped knits here and there.

"Do you not like it?"

"No, Haerin. I think it suits you."

"I'll wear it everyday then..."

They both blushed and looked away, and stayed quiet for a little while. Danielle felt stupid for saying things like this, while Haerin felt like she would deteriorate any second now. It was clear, they were both crushing on each other at the same time. Danielle would smile more for Haerin, and Haerin would secretly watch videos about skateboarding at home. Danielle wanted to make Haerin smile, on the other hand, Haerin wanted to impress Danielle. Two stupid young adults experiencing a mutual crush between them, it felt more like a 13 year old's first love.

Danielle held onto Haerin's hand, their fingers entwined. As they both kept quiet, not maintaining any eye contact at all.

Danielle decided to break the silence between them, "does this make us bestfriends?"

Haerin felt dumbfounded, bestfriends? She's crazy.
