We were walking, it was a nice day out, so we decided to go out. Everything was fine, all according to plan.

We were sat at a park, enjoying the wind. Some pedestrians walking past and decided to play a little with us before moving on with their day.

We had fun, i was running around with my best friend, Chase. My parents spectated from behind, enjoying the scenery and peaceful environment.

One pedestrian threw a frisbee towards my direction, "Chase! Can you get the frisbee?" I exclaimed towards Chase. "Of course I can! Just watch me." he responded boastly, then ran after the frisbee.

He ran for the frisbee, inching closer. Locked onto it, he was sure to catch the frisbee. He made a jump for it, caught it within the air, and landed safely onto the pavement.

"Yeah Chase!" I cheered from behind me. "Don't ever doubt me again, Marshall!", the last things he said before..

Disaster strikes.

Gasps heard from everywhere, we turned our heads towards where everyone is looking.

Tires screeched as we looked at what was speeding towards Chase. A pick-up truck consisting of fled convicts speeding towards the German Shepherd.

Crash. The truck struck a light pole and collided with street fencing. Under the heavy smoke of burning fuel, I saw a silhouette within it.

There stood Chase, along with my dad, fatally injured. He had pushed Chase out the way of the speeding truck before being hit himself, that had caused the drivers to swerve and crash.

"DAD!" I yelled in horror. I ran towards him, pushing past people. I went besides him, staring at his messed up body, blood leaking from every aspect of his body. My mom stood behind me in shock, breaking down into tears witnessing the scene.

"Dad, wake up, please!" I desperately shook him, attempting to wake him up. "Someone call an ambulance!" I heard from behind, the people who witnessed the scene urged to call emergency service.

Sirens blared as I watched my dad slowly fade into the afterlife. I turn and took one glance at Chase. "Why..?". He looked at me confused.

"Why, Chase?" I repeated. "W-what do you mean why?" he stuttered, maybe with a hint of fear. "You know exactly what I'm fucking talking about you Fucking Moron." I swore at him out of nowhere, gaining stares from everyone around.

"WHY HAD YOU JUST STOOD THERE AND DO NOTHING!? YOU HAD AROUND 7 SECONDS BEFORE THAT TRUCK WOULDVE EVEN REACHED WHERE YOU WERE STANDING!"

"AUGH!" I tackled straight towards him, he groaned in response to this. People rushed towards us to try seperate both of us from each other.

Emergency Services had arrived and came to also try seperate us from each other. "ALRIGHT ENOUGH, SETTLE DOWN!" one of them said.

After a minute or two, they finally successfully separated me and Chase. I saw the fear in his eyes, he knew this was not normal at all.

I saw behind him were ES members moving my dad to the back of the ambulance, I saw my dad look at me as they shut the ambulance door then went for the hospital.

I broke down in the ES member's arms, he guided his hand up and down on my bsck to calm me down. "It's alright buddy, don't worry about it." she(yes.) said to me.

"Marshall!" I heard my mom yell from behind. "Marshall!" she repeated.

And again...

And again...

And again...

"Marshall!" I lifted open my eyelids. "Everest?". "Thank God you're okay!" she hugged me, I always loved the way she comforts people. "Why were you crying in your sleep?" she asked out of curiosity, "Oh, I was?" I tried to act like I didn't know. "Okay...just tell me if you need anything alright?" she informs me, I nodded in response. "Oh, and Ryder is saying we are leaving for Adventure City in about an hour, so be ready!" she says before entering the building.

"Alright pups, to the Paw Patroller! We will be leaving for Adventure City now!" Ryder told us throught our pup tags. Adventure City, here we come!

Chase's POV:

am I really doing this? Am I actually about to return to the place where...it happened? I thought for a moment. Come on... be optimistic! If I don't, then what am I to qualify as Second-in-Command? I have to put up a good impression... I can do this.

I saw the other pups walking to the Paw Patroller all excited, they must be really looking forward to this. Everyone walked in one by one in an orderly fashion, I was last since I'm still quite nervous about this.

Nonetheless, I still went on, the door closes behind me and I walk towards my seat, I felt a glare on me, Marshall's staring at me isn't he? I asked rhetorically in my thought. Better to not stare back at him or else he might lash out on me.

I sat down on my seat before Ryder starts the Paw Patroller and start driving to Adventure City. I looked out the window, looking at the view of Adventure Bay, "Gorgeous, isn't it?" someone said next to me, I looked to my side, it was Skye.

"Adventure Bay is really something magnificent." she commented, I agree, Adventure Bay had something that makes it seem beautiful is someway. "Can you believe all these adventures started here? We started small, but now look at how big we've grown with our members." I said, she nods in agreement. I felt her staring at me, so I turned my head to see her swing her head 180 degrees, is she blushing? I thought, but I ignored it.

We went across the bridge and there stood a sign that said "You are now exiting Adventure Bay! Enjoy and be careful on your journey!", Mayor Goodway being the woman she is. Making sure everyone is safe and sound if they're either entering or leaving Adventure Bay. Now for the long 3 hour drive to Adventure City.

I swear Skye keeps looking at me during the whole ride.
