Smut chapter below
As the morning sun peeked through the curtains, Taylor's eyes fluttered open, a smile already playing on her lips as the memories of last night flooded back. She turned her head, her heart skipping a beat as she took in the sight of Ava lying next to her, looking utterly ethereal in the soft morning light.
Ava's dark hair was splayed across the pillow, a stark contrast to the white sheets. Her lips were curved in a slight smile, as if she was having the most pleasant dream. Taylor couldn't resist reaching out, trailing a feather-light touch along Ava's jawline.
At the contact, Ava's eyes blinked open, immediately finding Taylor's. A slow, mischievous grin spread across her face as she stretched, arching her body in a way that made Taylor's mouth go dry.
"Well, good morning to you too," Ava purred, her voice husky with sleep. "If this is the wake-up call I get, I might just have to keep you around."
Taylor laughed, a blush rising to her cheeks. "Is that so? And here I thought you just liked me for my songwriting skills."
Ava smirked, propping herself up on one elbow and giving Taylor a once-over that set her skin on fire. "Oh, I definitely like you for more than just your music, Swift."
She trailed a fingertip down Taylor's arm, leaving goosebumps in its wake. Taylor shivered, equal parts flustered and thrilled by Ava's boldness.
"I was really pissed off at you, you know?" Ava exhaled.
Taylor shifted closer, draping an arm across Ava's waist as they lay tangled together in the rumpled sheets. She pressed a soft kiss to the curve of Ava's shoulder, nuzzling into the warmth of her skin.
"I know," she murmured, the endearment rolling easily off her tongue despite the weight of their conversation. "And you had every right to be. I shut you out instead of letting you in, and that's not fair."
Ava turned in Taylor's embrace, eyes searching her face with an intensity that still made Taylor's breath catch in her throat. "You really hurt me, you know that?" she said, fingers trailing lightly up Taylor's side. "One minute I thought we were headed somewhere real, and the next you just... disappeared on me."
Taylor felt a pang of guilt, her teeth sinking into her lower lip. She reached up, tucking a stray lock of hair behind Ava's ear in a tender gesture. "I never wanted to hurt you, Aves. When everything imploded with Joe, I just... I panicked. I let my own fears and insecurities take over, and I pulled away from the best thing in my life."
Her thumb traced the sharp line of Ava's jaw, reverent. "But you have to know, you were never far from my mind. Even when I was being an absolute disaster, all I could think about was finding my way back to you."
The corner of Ava's mouth tugged upwards in that devastatingly rakish smirk that never failed to set Taylor's pulse racing. "Is that so?" she drawled, voice dipping into that low, smoky register that made heat unfurl low in Taylor's belly. "And here I thought you were just out there pining over the loss of your pretty boy actor and his chiseled jaw."
Taylor huffed out a breathless laugh, swatting playfully at Ava's shoulder as she shifted impossibly closer. "As if I'd ever waste more of my time on him when I've got a goddess right here in this bed," she purred.
Ava's eyes darkened perceptibly, her free hand trailing down the slope of Taylor's spine to tug her against her body. "That's right, you do," she husked, the rumble of her words vibrating through Taylor like the promise of a thousand sinful delights yet to come. "A goddess who could make you scream until your pretty voice gives out, just from a few strokes of her tongue..."
