All vampires are born with powers, some are useful, some are just slightly quirky, and some are very deadly and dangerous to those around them. Tawan's powers are the latter, extremely impressive and dangerous.

He has the ability to control both bodies of humans and vampires even to the point of stopping their hearts and killing them in an instant. If Korn hadn't harbored so much distrust for the little vampire, he would have considered him an invaluable member of his family. However, Korn doesn't miss the implications that his powers would also make him a deadly enemy.

Kim is given the task of finding all about Tawan without his brother's knowledge. Kinn will hear nothing bad about the little vampire, he is completely enamored by him. He would be furious if he had known that their father had asked Kim to look into Tawan's past.

In his human life, Tawan was the youngest son of a noble family. The people who remember him recall him as a spoiled and petulant child that used his pretty good looks to get whatever he wanted. His parents and siblings indulged his every whim. In his late teens he began to attract more male suitors than female ones, a situation his parents approved of. They had known of their son's preferences from a young age, and the suitors he attracted were rich and powerful.

None of that seemed particularly troubling, and suited Tawan's character from what Kim had seen. It was the information he found out from one of the former servants of the family that was troubling. Tawan liked to hurt things. Especially small and weak things. It wasn't the same as with Vegas, Kim knows about his cousin's preferences and cruelty. It was more that hurting things gave Tawan a sense of power over them that he lacked normally. That was very out of line with the face that he put on around Kinn and the rest of the family. Being changed into a vampire normally enhanced the strongest aspects of the person's personality, it didn't change them.

Modern Day

Chay wakes with a yawn and stares at the ceiling, this isn't his room. He lays there for a minute trying to remember where he is, then it comes to him, this one of the luxurious bedrooms in the mansion owned by the family of Porsche's mobster boyfriend. He sits up, and almost feels his soul leave his body. There is a boy sitting there beside the bed staring at him with a quizzical expression on his face.

"Who are you?" Chay manages when his heart slows back to a normal pace.

"Oh, hey, I'm Macau, you must be Porsche's brother." The boy says.

"Chay," he answers. He guesses that Macau is around his own age. "Are you related to P'Kinn?"

"He's my cousin, his father is my uncle." Macau clarifies.

There is the sound of running footsteps outside and Kim bursts into the room. He stops short when he sees Macau and Chay both staring at him.

"Macau, you can't be here, Chay is off limits, he is family." Kim says warily.

Macau rolls his eyes at this, "I wasn't going to make a meal out of him, I was just curious."

Chay huffs, "Macau is my guest," he lies because he sees Kim doesn't like the other boy being here. He has no idea of what Macau means by making a meal out of him, probably some inside mafia joke. "At least he didn't kidnap me."

Kim sighs, "I brought you here for your own safety, that isn't kidnapping."

"Am I free to leave?" Chay asks, crossing his arms across his chest.

"No," Kim admits.

"Then it's kidnapping." Chay says. "Now if you will excuse us, Macau and I were having a nice little chat before you intruded in."
