Unexpected Love...

The Dinner

Leah's POV:

As I was saying hello to my family, I couldn't help but glance over at Emma, I can see how much she adores her family and how proud they are of her, and so they should be, she had the best debut any player could ask for. After a while of talking to my mum we moved inside to get a drink, and where we were sat I can easily see Emma over her shoulder, so I couldn't help but look over at her every so often.

"Are you coming round, during the break.......or is there someone more important behind me ?" Mum says spotting me looking over at Emma.

"No no no sorry mum, yeah I'll be there" I say to her, trying to cover up the fact I was looking at Emma.

"You can invite her if you want"

"What no, why would I" I'm just trying to divert this conversation onto something else.

"Because you obviously like her love, you can't take your eyes off her"

"Ok yes I like her....I really like her, but we said we'd take it slow, so I don't want to her to think I'm rushing her into anything" I say honestly.

"I understand love, just think about it, plus we would all love to meet her....properly this time" she said making both of us laught at remembering the first time Emma and my mum met.

"Ok I'll think about it"

Not long after that conversation I feel a hand on my lower back, and as I turn to see who it is I'm met with a soft smile from Emma.

"Can I steal you for a minute ?" She whispers in my ear.

"Yeah cause you can, what's up ?"

"Nothing it's fine, my dad want to meet you that's all" she says while taking my hand leading the way. I can feel myself getting nervous, because I want to make a good first impression especially knowing that her dad means alot to her.

"Leah this is my dad Lee, and Dad this is Leah" Emma says introducing us both.

"It's nice to meet you Mr Riley" I say to him while shaking his hand.

"It's nice to finally meet you Leah, this one over here won't shut up about you"  as he says this we both look over to Emma who has gone bright red, with her head in her hands.

"Dad did you really need to bring that up ?" Emma says, with embarrassment making us both laugh.

"Sorry I'll stop embarrassing you now. Anyway, I just want to say that I'm glad your joining us for dinner Leah, I'm looking forward to getting to know you more. I'll see you both later" he says and walks towards the exit with Emma's brother who I'm yet to meat.

Soon after talking to our family, we made our way back down to the changing rooms to grab our stuff before we head over to Emma's for dinner. I had to stop at my house quickly to get changed first. Emma decided to come in as she knew how long it would take me to find an outfit. After putting an outfit together I met Emma downstairs by the front door. As I was begining to open the door, Emma pulled me back for a second.

"Emma is everything ok ?" Panic now starting to set in.

"Uh..yeah...I was just wondering, I mean only if you want to, but do you want to maybe stay at mine tonight ?" She asks nervously, the panic on my face quickly changes into a goofy smile.

"I would love to, but what about your dad and your brother ?"

"No its fine, they're only staying for dinner and maybe a game or two afterwards, but thats it"

"Well in that case" I say to her as I pull her into a quick kiss "I would love to stay with you tonight" I say with a big grin on my face.

"Good. But now that we've cleared that up, we should probably get going before my brother or my dad blow up my phone with lots of messages wondering were we are" she says as she holds the door open for me as we make our way out to my car.
