Collins POV
----
"You mean the one walking towards us now?"
----
Oh shit. Not this guy again. I don't know what is wrong with him, it's almost like he thinks he is too good for everyone and everything. What is he going to say or do? Maybe he'll properly introduce himself to me this time. I can't decide in my mind how he will act, so I just turn around and face him.I look up and meet his brown eyes as he stops a few feet away from Addison and I. Their dark. Like a storm is raging behind them. I can't help but wonder what is running through his mind.
"Excuse me" He speaks in a sharp tone.
I give him a dumbfounded look. Excuse me what? I turn to my right and look at Addison with pleading eyes; so that maybe she will cut in and end my suffering.
"You're blocking the door, this is my class too" He looks down at me and I move away so he can get through. I'm such an idiot!
"Addison you didn't tell me he was in here!" After I say that I freeze, I never yell. I quickly look around the hall to make sure nobody else heard me yelling. Thankfully everyone was in their classrooms and didn't witness the new girl shrieking in the hallway.
"Sorry, I honesty forgot! He sits in the back and is extremely quiet so I barley notice him." She rushes. I apologize to her for yelling and making a deal out of it.
We both smile and walk into the class. All eyes are on me, but this is what happens when you're new I suppose. As soon as we make our way to the front of the room where the teacher is, I start to panic. This is it.
I can feel my heartbeat increase rapidly and my palms start to sweat. I hand my teacher my schedule, signing it and welcoming me."Collins why don't you sit next to..." She looks around searching for a place to put me. "How about right next to Sam. Sam put your hand up so she knows where you are." I study the boy named Sam. He shoots his hand up but twirls it as he does so. The class laughs at his erratic gesture. I walk over to the desk next to him and set my books down gently. I'm in the second row so Jack has to be at least 2 or 3 rows behind me. I dare not to look behind me.
"Hey I'm Sam, you already know that, but you probably wanted to hear my angelic voice." Sam reaches out and hands me a rose he made out of paper. When did he make that? I bet he keeps them in his bag. I have to admit, Sam is a nice looking dude, he has really pretty eyes. I bet he hands out a lot of paper roses.
I reach and take the rose. "T-thanks, my name is C-Collins." I can feel my cheeks heat up because of how embarrassed I am due to my stutter. Great, he probably thinks I'm nervous around him. I mean I am, but that isn't what causes it to happen.
He shoots me a smile. "You know, I knew someone named Collins once, we met in a bar then she took me in the back-"
"Sam! Pay attention! You're already giving me a headache" The teacher shouts. I chuckle under my breath and face the front of the room, listening to the lecture.
I catch Addison looking at me from the front corner of the room and wiggling her eyebrows at me. I hope she doesn't think I am flirting with Sam. I'll admit, he is very attractive with his dimples, and sparkling eyes, but I'm the last person who would flirt.
An hour and a half passes and I barley made it through class without wanting to fall asleep. The bell rings and all the students file out. I stand up and let all the kids behind me leave first so I don't feel rushed to leave. Addison waits by the door and immediately bombards me with questions about my confrontation with Sam.
"Do you like him? Do you think he likes you?" I laugh out loud. "No I don't like him, he's not my type". She laughs and we both head out into the hallway together. "Apparently he got into a bar?! How did he manage to do that?"
"Oh all the boys go to the bars and clubs around town, one of them got their older brother to make them fake IDs, it's crazy honestly". I look at her with shock. I would never dare go to a bar underage, let alone drink alcohol. I'm too scared to get in trouble.
She stops in the middle of the hall and takes my schedule out of my hand. "Okay you have athletic training next, obviously in the athletic hall." She laughs then looks at me waiting for me to comprehend what she just said.
I've always loved athletic training. My favorite part is seeing all the fake injuries that come in during tryout week. But since it's the middle of the fall season, I doubt I will have any. Addison leads me to the training room and I see the teacher holding her little boy, he has to be 2 years old.
"Yo Maddy, this is Collins, she is new here from Oregon, and will be your little helper." I laugh at Addisons introduction. I give Maddy a smile and reach my hand out to shake hers.
"Nice to meet you, this is my... messy son, Vance, he's a sweetheart but he'll chew your hair if you let him."
A smile forms on my lips as I give a little wave to Vance. Addison decided to stay with me for this class, even though I was going to be the only one in it this period. Maddy goes over ground rules and procedures. Since I took athletic training at my old school I already know the training procedures.
Just when I'm getting comfortable sitting on a medicine ball the door flys open. I look up and meet Jacks gaze. He diverts his eyes from mine quickly like it didn't even happen. What is his problem? Do I make him nervous?
"Maddy can you tape my ankle, it's sort of sore from basketball." Jack asks.
Maddy has Vance in her lap, "I can't do it today because I have Vance with me, ask Collins to do it, she's trained, and this will be my chance to see how she does!"
My blood runs cold. Seriously?
