Summery ~ after nearly getting skewered by Kujou Sara's arrow and defeating a few different guards, you went to retrieve your sword from the shoulder of someone you defeated. Just as you grab it, you notice a quick dash reflect of the mirroring surface of the blade...
I saw a quick dash of light head right for me, luckily, I was able to block it with my swords. It took a few moments before my brain was able to catch up with what happened. Big final boss dude was trying to cut me from above. Somehow, I had managed to catch his blade between my two, however I was a bit slow on the uptake and was only able to redirect the blade to my shoulder. His blade's edge stuck into the crevasse it made in my skin. As he placed more and more weight on his swing, I can feel it dig deeper and deeper into my left shoulder. My arms begin to shake as I try fight his force with mine until I can figure out what to do.
This asshole attacked me while I had my back turned! Does he have no shame! I begin to pout, before yelling out, "Aether, might need a bit of help with this one!!"
Aether was already trying to fight through the mob of guards to help me, but I know that this guy will overpower me before then. Don't fight force with force, I need to move.
With the remaining strength in my arms, I shift the attacker's blade's direction away from me. I wasn't completely successful though. In my attempt to send his blade left, while I sidestep right, his blade was too fast and ended up grafting the skip off the top of my left shoulder. Blood began to drip down my left side and arm. So much for getting out of this unharmed... there goes my bragging point...
Not only did this asshole go for the one person who wasn't fighting but he went for the shortest one! I grumble for a moment, complaining won't help me right now. He might be big, but I have a 'vision'. Well, its not technically – NOT THE TIME!
My internal bantering was distracting me from battle, so I refocus. Just as I am ready to charge the big guy, another guard attacks me from behind. Luckily, I dodge his jab by side stepping, but then he sweeps it at me. I luckily catch it on my left sword. Lengthening the right sword with anemo, I stab the guard's upper legs.
This causes his main force behind his swing to die and give me the ability to push the polearm out of the way. Just as I am about to get in close to deal a knockout, big dude comes back and slices his sword at my right shoulder.
Using the angle of my right blade, when his force meets my redirection, his blade slips down my sword creating sparks. Little fireworks go off when I see this, but then I refocus again. His swing completely missed so I use my right sword to stab his wielding shoulder, it wasn't my best move, as it left his left arm ready. I forget that these people are actually trying to kill me, without the same attitude it will eventually end getting myself killed.
His free left hand grabs my head, instinctively I remove my right sword from his shoulder and use it to cut deep into his left forearm, trying to remove my head from his grasps.
"Let go you bastard!" I scream as I stab in the upper torso with my left blade. I can see his right arm moving, clearly, I didn't do a good enough job to remove that arm from the fight. With that arm holding a sword I begin to panic. I look at the anemo infused in my sword. And use it to enforce my arms.
I kick him hard and fast in the chin, using anemo to increase its velocity. His mouth starts to bleed and his grip on my head falters. I use anemo to propel myself away from him by pushing my feet against his face and chest.
I land in a cool pose and realise I just did a backflip! AH no way!! I did something people only see in movies!
I can see the veins pop on his head, I don't think he liked me stepping on his face... THAT'S WHY YOU DON'T GRAP MY HEAD!
I wipe my forehead and take a deep breath, allowing for me to feel the wind pass in and out of my body. I lengthen both my swords with anemo and charge when he charges. He swings from above, using my right blade this time to redirect and dodge on the outside.
I can see a smile on his face, shit, did he predict I would do this?
I see the redirected blade come swinging at me again from the side. I manage to do a measly block using my right sword, his strength pushing me back. I slash his wielding arm again with my left blade, giving me a bit of leeway.
I hold my left sword up towards his face and extend the anemo blade up to his neck.
"Drop the sword."
He freezes, the force in his sword begins to reduce.
"You saw that I can extend this blade didn't you. Drop it."
The daggers in my eyes are as sharp as the blade resting against his throat. A small drop of blood leaks from his neck, where the sword is. Whether it was because he surrendered or the fact that his arm was mangled, it dropped like a stone along with the sword. I kick the sword behind me, to prevent him from picking it up with his left.
I step away slowly and lower my sword. Good that this bluff worked, I couldn't extend the blade any further if I tried, it would have exploded.
He collapses to his knees, holding his shoulder. I look around to figure out where exactly Aether got caught up, there was about eight guards standing in front of him. The guards gave up though when they saw their 'fallen' leader.
That brought an end to the battle. Kujou Sara stepped forward and towards the man who was standing in the back watching the fiasco. I went and found a place to sit to rest and treat my wounds. Aether strayed to help me instead, treating my wounds with a basic bandage. He could see me pout.
"I almost got out of this unscathed! If it weren't for that guy attacking me when I had my back turned!" I cross my arms like a toddler.
"You always have to be ready in battle," Aether sighs, "You never know when someone is going to strike you."
"But I thought that was why we were going to watch each other's backs?" I sigh.
Aether scratches his head, "Sorry about that. I warned you though, I was just too far away to act in time."
"I still lack actual combat experience, so don't expect anything to highly of me."
"What are you talking about," Aether slaps me on my unhurt shoulder, "You defeated the commander by yourself, after a surprise attack I might add."
A small smile escapes the confines of my lips, thought that fades when Paimon comes over.
"Paimon was so worried!!" She shrieks. I loudly exhale as my ears start to bleed.
"Paimon was worried that you would get hurt back there!"
"I did... you didn't do anything to help..." I grumble.
"You know Paimon can't fight!"
"Excuses, excuses," I sigh doing a pathetic stretch. Paimon's face becomes distorted again after what I said. I can't stop tormenting Paimon, it's too fun. I SHOULD TOTALLY TRAIN HER TO WEILD A SWORD MAYBE SHE'LL BE GOOD FOR SOMETHING!
Paimon gets mad and flies over to Kujou Sara to hear the rest of the conversation. Aether helps me up and we join them.
