Chapter 2

James' POV:
As I was walking back in defeat and disappointment, I saw stupid Zandar get on his feet.

"I present to you...the biggest wimp in the world!" Zandar exclaimed loudly. He's messing with me!

Zandar pulled out my seat. Hans, Clio, Hildegart, and Amber laughed.

Now Hugo was dying of laughter. "He couldn't even give a girl his number!"

I growled. "You all better shut up. I was kind enough to take you guys out in town." Hildegart smirked at me, and got up.

She touched my lips with her finger. She got close to me, and whispered in my ear.

"I'm glad you didn't give it your phone number. I could always take the piece of paper. You and I could make a great couple."

I shook my head. Hildegart turned to Amber and Clio.

"I better get going. My boyfriend, Desmond, is picking me up. At least he knows how to treat me right."

Hans, Zandar, and Hugo started "oohing."

We all knew what Hildegard had said was a lie. Desmond was kind of a nerd.

He was that type of kid who knew those facts no one cared to actually know.

He knew how big a bus was, the names of all the animals on the extinct list, the scientific name for all mammals, and all that stuff.

I will admit I get straight A's, but that was for my sports. Desmond can't even kick a ball. He knew nothing about sports!

It was so obvious Hildegard was after his money, and for his smartness. He wasn't even good looking.

"James! James! Back to Earth!" Amber's voice zoned me back in.

"What? Uh. What happened?" Zandar started laughing. Hugo smirked.

"Ha ha ha ha ha! 'It was so obvious Hildegard was after his money, and for his smartness. He wasn't even good looking.' Wow! Just freakin declare your love to her!" Hugo said.

Amber nodded. "Don't waste your time on that waitress. She is poorer then my credit card after a shopping spree!" Hans laughed. "Good one, Ambs!"

Amber smiled, and looked at me.
"Don't you see! Hilde likes you!"
Hans nodded.

Amber smiled, and kissed him. He kissed her back, but they started showing their love right there. Yuck!

Zandar laughed, and got up. "I better run away like Sofia. My mother is gonna kill me. She said I've got to get my grades higher or else I'll have to quit football!"

I stood up. "I better leave too. Amber, you comin?" Amber signaled no with her finger. I shrugged. "Okay." I turned around, and headed for Jade and Ruby.

"Hey! Um, do you know where Sofia went? I was hoping to catch her." I said. Jade and Ruby high-fived each other. Jade looked at me.

"Well, James. Sofia went home to her mom. Sorry you couldn't catch her. The thing is...WHAT IS THAT PAPER?" Jade whispered.

Ruby rolled her eyes at her. "Oh Jade. Stop it! Don't get into his privacy."

She looked at me.

"You know, this reminds me of Cinderella. Well, James we better get going. People want their sweets, y'know?"

Jade pulled a pen and paper out of her pocket and wrote something. She then handed me the paper.

They were numbers. "What is th-" I began.
