Lawan Bunmi
"Oh Lawan, you look marvellous!" Hermione gasps with a star struck smile on her face, engulfing me in a tight hug before I can even thank her for kind words. I close my eyes and giggle, hugging her back even tighter as our bodies sway.
"You look beautiful Hermione, you're literally glowing!" I pull back from the warm embrace, my hands holding hers as I literally fall in love with how she looks tonight. She had a purple dress on her that had different layers and different shades of the colour, her hair up in a bun with two curled strands falling down her shoulder, making her look like some sort of princess. Her makeup was on point, not too heavy but there was enough to change her face a bit and bring out more glow to her perfect skin.
Tonight was a night that has been the topic of discussion and gossip for the past two months. The Yule Ball is a yearly ball that took place in Hogwarts every Christmas, inviting other schools of magic coming as far away as France or Russia. It's safe to say that I'm no different than most of the girls that loved this ceremony, and that I looked forward to it every ever year since the first time I assisted. It was a night where everyone got along with each other, no matter if you were friends with them or not and it honestly made me feel so happy.
The entrance to the Great Hall was packed, girls in their beautiful dresses and guys in their finest suits all chatting with each other, little groups scattered all along the corridor as more people kept entering. It was a heartwarming atmosphere that I loved seeing in occasions like these.
A beautiful prussian blue dress was hugging my body, a slit that opened up all the way up to my upper right thigh that added a hint of sexiness to it. The straps were off the shoulders hanging down on my arms, a sweetheart shaped neckline that showed cleavage and a single silver necklace hanging. It was a simple dress, but beautiful for the occasion.
"I'm so nervous I think I might throw up." She chuckles, making me laugh along with her and shake my head, my hands still on hers.
"Don't be silly. This is our third Yule Ball so we can't act like newbies. Plus, you have a man on your arm tonight..." I say cheekily, giving her a wink and looking at her date that was talking to his friend a couple of feet behind us. I didn't know who he was, apart from that he's one of the students from overboard schools, which is surprising because I honestly thought she would she would come with either Ron or Harry.
"Yeah, yeah, well you have your man on you too. Where is he?" She says and wiggles her eyebrows playfully, looking behind me trying to see if Mattheo is lurking around in a corner being his antisocial self, making my heart tight in my chest and my smile slightly drop at her question.
Mattheo told me several weeks ago that he wouldn't come to the ball due to some meeting he had with his father that he could not miss, and I was heartbroken to say the least and it truly made me sad. It would've been our first ball as an official couple, considering that last year we were on and off in a more physical relationship with no label. So tonight, I feel like a part of me is missing. Even though Mattheo isn't really the type of guy of events like these, he still would've came just for me.
