"How the hell could you misplace a body?!" Megumi lifted an eyebrow.

He'd come out of his room for the first time in two days, only to get the news that his dead classmate's body was gone.

"She most likely disappeared, like a curse." Gojo explained "After all, she was part curse, and with the amount of cursed energy she had-"

"I can't deal with this right now," he said, putting his hands in his pockets, and walking away from the white-haired man "She wasn't a curse and you know it."

"I'm not saying she was, but her powers were similar to one." Gojo looked at the boy's back as he walked away. Megumi was usually very moody, so this wasn't unusual. But remembering how much he'd wept just a few days ago, Gojo couldn't help but think that something was still wrong.

Fushiguro walked aimlessly, not going anywhere in particular.

Memories of the short time he'd known Ankoku flashed in his mind.

Like the first time he'd ever seen her.

The early morning rays of sunlight shone in through the classroom window. Birds could be heard outside. The morning was too pleasant for Megumi Fushiguro's liking.

"Where's Gojo?" Nobara asked.

She, Yuji and Megumi were already sitting in the classroom, waiting for their teacher to arrive.

"Has he ever been on time?" Nobara complained, leaning back in her chair.

Megumi had gotten used to it. His adopted father was never on time, but it was understandable. He was the strongest after all, the world would wait for him. Even if it was slightly annoying.

The white haired man ran into the classroom.

"I have some news for you," Gojo said, his voice filled with excitement "we have a new student! Allow me to introduce... Ankoku Kato!"

The door to the classroom opened again, and the three teenagers turned their heads to see the person walking in.

Even though none of the trio possessed the Six Eyes like Gojo did, they could still feel the power emanating from the girl.

She was skinny, and pretty tall. Half of her black hair was up in a bun, while the lower half cascaded down her back.

As she stepped into the classroom, she was looking down at the floor, but as she brought her eyes up, Megumi felt his breath catch in his throat.

He'd thought Gojo's eyes were beautiful, but this was on another level. He felt like she could stare down his soul, as if he could see the very depths of the universe. Her eyes were a deep dark purple, with many light specks which seemed to flicker like stars.

After seeing how shocked the trio were at her appearance, Ankoku lowered her eyes again, looking at the floor as she bowed.

"It's nice to meet you all," she said, a small smile pulling at the corners of her lips. Her voice was almost emotionless, but it wasn't Megumi's brand of boredom or annoyance. She was simply calm.

Megumi mentally shook himself, coming back to reality.

All he wanted to do was forget.

...

Choso carefully put down Ankoku's cold body. Kenjaku, Jogo, Mahito, Hanami and Choso's brothers stood close by, observing.

"Is this really her?" Mahito asked, walking closer and raising an eyebrow.

"Yes. It's definitely her." Kenjaku said, opening one of her eyes.

Even though it was dull and lifeless, he could recognise the unmistakable eye of the Rikai Sorcerer. Even though he'd only ever heard of it in legends.

"I still don't understand how we can be related. She wasn't a cursed womb like the three of us." said Eso, one of Choso's younger brothers.

"If legends are true, she isn't technically a cursed womb. But only technically," Jogo said, thinking back to everything he'd heard about the girl. "She was created the same way you three were, half-curse, half-human, but she died shortly after. However, her power lives on, changing hosts and living out new lives. Which means, if we aren't too late, her soul might still reside in her body"

They all looked expectantly at Mahito.

"Alright, alright, give me a second," he said, cracking his knuckles "but what'll happen if I get too carried away? Maybe I'll have a little fun and-"

"Don't, Mahito," Kenjaku cut him off, "we need her. And besides, if she's as powerful as I think she is, it might do more damage to you than to her."

"Fine," Mahito said, putting his right palm on the girl's chest. "Her soul's definitely still there, but-" he was confused, not quite able to activate his power. Maybe she was too far gone?

Just as he thought this, the girl's eyes snapped open and she grabbed the curse's hand with her own.

"What exactly do you think you're doing?" she asked, kicking him in the stomach so hard that he backed away.

Jumping down from the table she'd laid on, she raised her fist, ready to attack the curse once more. But she was cut off.

"There's no need for such hostilities, Ankoku. We simply wanted to bring you back."

She lowered her fist, looking around the room.

Her powers were acting up after having just come back, so she wasn't fully able to read the cursed energy of everyone present. But she could tell that she was surrounded by curses.

"Hey, that actually hurt!" said the blue-haired curse she'd kicked. And his voice wasn't mad or pained, he was... exited? "I can't believe there's a sorcerer who can actually touch my soul. You were right, Geto, she is powerful..."

Ankoku took a deep breath. She tried to control her cursed energy, which was very chaotic at the moment. Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, she turned towards a man with long black hair and stitches over his forehead.

"Where am I?"

The man's smile sent shivers down Ankoku's spine.

"You're finally with your family," he said.
