Chapter 37

James 's POV

After the big fight between everyone in the studio, I run out to find Riley. I see her sitting in the music room.

James: "hey." I say.

She looks up and realizes it's me. She doesn't say anything.

James: "Riley you need to understand that if I would have told you, it wouldn't have made a difference of what happened-"

Riley: "no, James, it would have." She says looking at me, "at least you wouldn't have lied to me."

James: "Riley-"

Riley: "and don't say that you kept it from me to protect me because lies are lies," she says cutting me off, "and it really doesn't matter the size." She says walking away.

James: "Riley!" I yell, "I really like you!"

Riley: she turns to me, "so you think by saying that you really like me is going to earn yourself forgiveness?"

James: "that's not why I said it-"

Riley: "then why did you-!"

James: "because I'm falling in love with you!" I snap and she looks at me shockingly, "ever since we did that duet."

Riley: "don't say things you don't mean." She says shaking her head.

James: "you think I'm lying?" I ask shocked.

Riley: "I never said that, but I'm sure you've told all the girls that."

Riley obviously doesn't know how much she means to me. If I were to loose Riley, I'd probably loose a little bit of myself. She means more to me than any dance, or any girl. I just don't want to loose her.

James: "Riley, you're the first girl I have ever said anything like that to." I pause, "I said what I said because I mean it. I'm scared to fall for just anyone because I'm scared I won't get back up, but with you I'm not scared. I know you're there to help me get back up and to never give up on me. So that's what in doing right now. I'm not giving up on you, or me, or us." I say looking into her eyes, "because I don't want to loose what we have."

I hope she understands where I'm coming from and how much I'm trying.

Riley: "then please just be honest with me. Keeping things from me is only going to hurt me more." She pauses, "I care too much about you. You're not going to loose me," she says wrapping her arms around me, "because I don't want to loose you either."

I wrap my arms around Riley and she buries her head in my chest.

James: I whisper, "I'm not going anywhere."

Cody's POV

I walk out of studio A and go to culture shock. I'm just thinking about everything that happened and what Giselle and I are going to do.

Riley walks in and slowly approaches me.

Cody: "hey, Riley."

Riley: "hey," she says giving a soft smile.

I motion to the chair across from me for her to sit down and she does.

Riley: "about this dare thing- you have no idea how bad Giselle feels. She has been caught in the middle and didn't want to loose her friends because of a stupid dare-"

Cody: "this isn't seventh grade where you have to do things to impress your friends. If your friends liked you for you, they wouldn't make fun of you for doing something you're uncomfortable doing-"
