Midoriya fell to his knees, sobbing. "Why," he cried, "We just met and you're so kind to me, why?" The crying boy lifted his head and Sora saw nothing but a stream of tears...and light.
Sora smiled at him, "Because I know what it's like to feel powerless. You don't need a quirk to be a hero, Midoriya. You just need a strong heart." The brown haired boy picked up Midoriya and gave him a hug. "I can see the light inside you Midoriya. You're going to be an amazing hero I just know it."
Midoriya thanked Sora for his kind words and the two split off on their own ways. Sora's walk back home-
Wait...Sora's in a new world. Where would he stay?
He swiftly turned back only to see nothing there, just the orange hue of the setting sun. He laughed. One day spend in a brand new world and he not only found someone with the potential to wield a Keyblade, but helped that person build a stronger heart.
"I AM HERE!" A voice boomed as he sprinted to where Sora was, stopping right before he rammed into the smaller frame of the boy.
Sora recognized that voice, it was All Might! But just what was he doing here?
"YOU THERE! YOUNG MAN!" The hero almost yelled at Sora. Despite how large and muscular the man was Sora could tell that he was a genuine hero. After being released by the heroes from earlier, Midoriya was telling Sora about All Might, Japan's No. 1 Hero.
"Hey!" Sora flashed the hero a nervous smile, worried All Might had come to reprimand him some more after the boy rushed after Midoriya during the sludge incident.
"I wanted to talk to you, about earlier. When the green haired kid got captured by the sludge villain, and then again when you both managed to be in the same place as when that same villain captured the boy with the explosion quirk! You two rushed in there even when the heroes wouldn't," All Might was telling Sora about how him and Midoriya inspired the hero to move even when he was too scared to,
"Without you two, without the green kid, Midoriya, I'd have been nothing more than fake muscles and insincerity! So, thank you."
Sora was astonished, All Might was admitting to him that he was scared during the sludge villain incident. Sora felt lighter, as if he really did manage to help even when he felt like he was useless.
All Might continued, "I had already thanked Young Midoriya, but you. I wanted to thank you too and talk to you about something."
"Yes sir?" Sora asked. He tilted his head slightly, intrigued by what All Might was telling him. His nervousness has diminished but he was still wondering if making such an impact on an important figure of a new world was the right course of action. His head was racing at the possible chastisings he would get from Donald.
All Might explained to Sora that the hero had felt a connection with the boy. He told him that in each new generation there would be aspiring heroes, but that only a few of them would be so willing to stand up to the plate.
"Of all the people at the scene, it was only you two who acted. You spurred me to action! Most of the top heroes show signs of greatness even as children. Many of them claim that their bodies simply moved before they could think! That's what happened to you and Midoriya, yes?"
Sora nodded. He truly ran in there due to his overwhelming worry of Midoriya, and the blonde boy. He couldn't just stand by and watch people be in danger and do nothing about it. He didn't care about the danger he was putting himself in.
"Young man, you, too, can become a hero!" All Might laughed. It wasn't an insulting laugh, but a hearty laugh of a man who was proud and happy. Sora stared at him. For some reason, he was also happy. "What is your name, young man?"
"Sora," The key bearer responded, "My name is Sora."
...
Sora found shelter in a small hotel near the riverbank. He lay there on his less-than-ideal bed, thinking about this eventful day in this foreign world. People had superpowers called quirks, there were no Heartless or Nobodies around, and there were such things as heroes and villains.
The boy got giddy. He remembered back on Destiny Islands when he and Riku used to read comic books together.
"Hey, Sora," Riku called. The silver-haired boy, 10 years old, ran to his smaller friend, 9, to show him what he had in his hands.
Sora was playing in the sand, digging holes so that when the tide hit he'd have a little pool. Sora was always afraid of the ocean, ironically while living on an island. Whenever he stared at the horizon, he got this bad feeling. As if it was nothing but danger and...darkness.
"Sora?" Riku asked, "Earth to Sora!" The brown-haired boy looked behind him and locked eyes with Riku. He smiled, his worries washing away. Sora knew he was safe when Riku was with him, they were best friends after all.
"Look at this!" Riku shoved the small comic in Sora's face, the title read Punch Heroes Z, and it was the new 5th volume! The boys had been reading over the series since they were around 5 and 6 respectively. Sure the comics were for kids, and they got laughed at at school for still being into it at their older age, but the main character "Punchman" inspired them to be greater than they were.
Sora reminisced on his time since before the heartless attacked the islands. It was a fun time. He couldn't spend too long remembering it though, it made him sad.
The boy tossed and turned in his rough mattress. The room stunk of smoke, and he felt dirty just being there. He wondered if Midoriya got home safe, he wondered if All Might told Midoriya the same stuff that he told the key bearer. Sora's mind remembered the last parts of his conversation with the hero.
"Young Sora, what's your quirk?" All Might questioned. Sora's mind raced, having little knowledge of what quirks truly were.
"My quirk is Keyblade!" Sora exclaimed, thinking it to be an adequate answer, "I have a big key and I can use it as a sword! It also lets me do all kinds of cool things!" The boy didn't want to dive too far into his powers, he was disrupting the world order enough as it is. All Might nodded and laughed.
"EXCELLENT! I love the sound of that, it's fun!" The hero boomed. "You should consider attending U.A.! I'm sure you would get in!"
The memory faded, and Sora smiled. He's glad to have had a good first day here. He thought that maybe he should attend the hero school, maybe he'd see Midoriya there!
Quirkless or not, Sora is sure Midoriya can become a hero.
