You caught the Nights disease a couple weeks ago and you had been forced to stay in the asylum for 'further testing' as you were told. You've heard other civilians talk about Benevolent_day's so called 'malevolent side', and you might be starting to believe their little yapping.
You used to think Bene was such a nice guy, always calling people cute nicknames, treating peoples wounds with the utmost care. Nobody had a reason to doubt him.
You also found out you had roommates, if you could even call them that. You've heard ungodly sounds coming from outside of your cell, and you were not comforted by it in the slightest. You tried to behave well so he wouldn't snap on you, you didn't know if it worked, but you had hoped it did. He hasn't given you the malevolent treatment, and you would like to keep it that way. Your little roommates were enough proof of that.
But tonight, your luck had ran out apparantly. You were about to drift off to sleep, when you heard your door slam open. You jumped from shock and got up, and to your utter surprise, and maybe even misery; there stood Benevolent_day, just not as benevolent.
"[OPERATIVE] Benevolent_day..?" You said, your voice quiet from the huge lack of social stimulation. You had been spending your days isolating yourself in your not-so-safe room afterall.
He gives a soft chuckle as he leaned against the wall, crossing his arms. He tilted his head to the side. "…Yes? You seem surprised to see me." He said non chalant, as if it was completely normal to barge into your room in the midst of the night.
"Well, you did come into my cell in the middle of the night." He stayed quiet for a moment before a smile crept back onto his face. "…I believe I have a good reason for it though." He says, standing back up straight, still keeping his arms crossed. "I’m just here to check up on you. Make sure you’re doing okay."
You didn't believe a word he said, but you decided to just play along with his little game.
"...Okay." You feel skeptical as ever. You wouldn't wanna end up like them, do you?
He walks towards you, stopping a few meters away from you, his smile never leaving his wretched face.
"How have you been feeling the past few weeks? Hopefully you aren't doing too bad." He said with a sweet tone, enough to fool anyone into thinking he had good intentions for anything and anyone.
"I- I'm... doing a- alright i guess." You couldn't bare to look at him. Your heart rate was already going insanely fast. You could feel your hands shaking while you fiddled with them. You didn't wanna think about the possible outcomes of this conversation, but it kept getting back into your mind. You just wanted mercy, even if it was just for tonight.
You were looking straight at the floor, too scared to look back up, almost as if your brain was expecting to see a creature with big, sharp teeth, salivating and eager to taste your flesh, to be staring right at you. You could say that though, it was just disguised by sugar coated lies and a fraud of a nice person.
You guessed that you had spaced out for a while, because you suddenly felt a hand under your chin, forcing you to face the person attached to it. You looked into his sweet, bright eyes, devoid of any ill demeanor. You almost felt yourself get hypnotised by them, but you felt something cold press against your bare neck. Something with a sharp outline.
You dreaded this moment, you felt tears prick in the corners of your eyes. You probably looked pitiful, but you couldn't care less. You just wanted to wake up, to the realisation that everything was just a bad dream, but that wasn't the case as much as you had hoped it to be.
He dug the tip of the blade into your skin with a friendly smile. You were frozen in place; scared of what would happen had you the splendid idea of resisting. You squeezed your eyes shut, not being able to keep eye contact for any longer.
"Open your eyes for me..." You heard his gentle voice despite the request you would rather have declined, but you didn't wanna make this experience any worse for yourself, so you complied.
You opened your eyes to the sight of Bene smirking at you with malicious intent.
"That's what i thought, my obedient little plaything. You don't want me to hurt you, right?" You nodded quickly, not wanting to upset him. There were endless possibilities to what he could do to you, and you weren't trying to find out each and every single one.
"Heh, so cute. Rest while you still can. I'll be seeing you again soon." He said as he suddenly let go of you, turning to make his way out of the room. You felt hope for the first time in a while, maybe the deities above had answered your prayers afterall. He abruptly stopped at the door, giving you one last wicked smile. "Rest well indeed..."
He then finally closed the door behind him. You felt relieved though it was only for a short period of time.
You laid back in bed and crawled under your blanket. It being your only friend in this lonely asylum. You let all the tears you had been suppressing go, though you were still making sure to not wake the others.
You feel your eyes get heavy as you continued crying your heart out, and eventually you fell asleep. Hopefully the world will spare you tomorrow, though the chances were always very slim.
- THE END!
I had way too much fun making this. Hope you enjoyed that.
