Will and Trevor decided to rent the apartment in South Hawkins as soon as Will came back from his meeting with Mike. Trevor got the bedroom and Will put up a cloth wall in the kitchen, front room area for his sleeping area. It was surprisingly roomy for a one bedroom apartment. Will painted and did some small fixes while a crew he hired built the bathroom a little larger with a new shower, sink and toilet, along with tile. The contractor was James Dante and he was changed from his middle school days. He was nice now and Trevor knew his daughter in school. Will still stayed at the Wheeler's house for the time being.

Mike came home a week and a half later from that Saturday. Will and Trevor were mostly moved out so they wouldn't be in Mike's hair too much as he navigated life again.

Will and the Wheelers came up with a plan to introduce Trevor to Mike. Mike didn't know he had a son because Julie and his Mom didn't tell him. The plan is basically to show Mike Will's son and tell him the truth.

Ted pulled into the driveway with Mike. Karen bought Mike some new clothes and other things. Mike's old room was set up for Mike and Will bought some posters to make the room more personal. When Mike came to the door he was wearing a jacket, long sleeve t-shirt, jeans and a pair of low top canvas board shoes Trevor picked out for him. He hugged his Mom and Will and then Trevor was brought out. Trevor and Mike looked at each other and then looked at Will. "Mike, this is Trevor Byers, my adopted son. Did you know a woman named Julie Cooke?" Will had to ease into this. "Uhh, I knew a Chantel whose real name was Julie when I first did modeling jobs. What about her?" Karen talked "Julie Cooke was Trevor's birth mother. Julie approached us when she left the modeling world that the child she was carrying was yours. Ted and I helped her during her pregnancy and she adopted out Trevor when he was born. We never told you since you were not in the right frame of mind. We never knew until a little bit ago that Will adopted Trevor. That was a good surprise to us."

Mike looked at Trevor again. "I had a kid on the way and you didn't think of telling me!" Mike looked at his parents. "I would of liked to known that information. I missed out on his life." Mike broke down and Trevor went to him and wrapped an arm around him "I'm here Mr. Wheeler. Dad and I are going to be living in Hawkins so we can get to know each other if you want that. I had a great upbringing so you don't have to worry." "Call me Mike, Trevor. Mr. Wheeler is my father." Ted rolled his eyes.

After some time with Mike getting acquainted with Trevor, Mike found Will. "Will, I'm glad you adopted him. He turned out great." Will smiled "thanks Mike. He has great genetics." Mike snorted. "I think we need to talk Will. I have a lot to tell you."

Will picked a Tuesday in the beginning of April to talk to Mike. Will had to go home to check on the house and Mike decided he had to go with. Mike rode in the Jellybean to Will's home in the suburbs of Chicago. "Mom said you rented an apartment. You know you don't have to leave because of me. I was hoping to get to spend time with you two." "Well, we will still be in Hawkins Mike. You can visit us anytime. We would like that." "Yeah, I'll take you up on that offer." Will pushed the small engine as hard as he could and Mike talked again. "Why did you leave Hawkins, Will? You just went to Minnesota without so much as a peep. Were you mad about something?"

Will did not want to talk about this. "You know why I left Mike. Don't try to deny it." Mike seemed confused "know what. You didn't talk to us much that summer." Will was angry but couldn't blow up at Mike since they were trapped together in the car. "Is that what you really remember Mike? Did you forget about the part where I had to work every weekday, because unlike you and the rest of the Party, I actually had to make money due to not having a privileged childhood unlike the rest of you." Mike rolled his eyes "really Will, that's your argument. It is bullshit because for one, El didn't have to work. Second, your Mom's job paid almost as well as Claudia's job and better than Max's Mom's job. I don't see why you worked. It isn't my fault my parents or Lucas's didn't make us work that summer." Will was confused. "What does any of that have to do with the fact I had no money for things I needed or wanted. El had Hopper to help her since he made more money. When I did have the weekends off it was Party couples or date nights which completely left me out of the loop. Do you think I liked being ignored while the group always were together? Max said it best when she said you guys were shitheads back then."
