As I spray the sidewalk with the power hose, I couldn't help but laugh. Those three boys and I had a blast. My glasses were ruined with plastered on sugar and lemonade. Mom is still a little upset about that.
Continuing to wash the sidewalk, I heard the sound of skateboard wheels rolling down the hot concrete.
"Mia, Mia!" I heard Cameron's voice said with so much confidence.
I looked up, but without my glasses it looked like a blur.
"Cameron, hi." I smiled and continued to scrub. As he got closer I realized he had a bucket of cleaning supplies in his hands.
"My mom saw you sitting out here alone cleaning the sidewalks. She thought you were crazy." Cameron said.
I giggled and moved my hair out of my face.
"And when I explained to her what we did, she thought I should help." Cameron's flawless smile showed when he kneeled down and moved the sugar around with a sponge.
"Well thank you for helping." I bit my lip.
We washed in silence for a while when I decided to look at him. When I looked up to see his gorgeous face, I caught him staring.
Blushing, I looked away. I don't understand why he's helping. I'm so unpopular and he's the total opposite.
When I looked up at him again, he was already looking.
"What is it?" I grinned and pushed my hair behind my ear.
"Nothing." Cameron was just so cool and smooth.
Looking up one last time, I saw Cameron looking too.
"What!" I exclaimed, trying not to be too pushy.
"Nothing, I swear." Cameron took the power house and sprayed off some lemonade stain.
"Tell me or I'll- I'll dump this bucket of gross water on you." I said as I picket the bucket up.
Cameron just looked at me and laughed.
"Tell me!" I repeated.
"No there is nothing." Cameron continued to laugh.
"There is something what?!" I hopped up on my feet and picked up the bucket, to be honest, it was waaaaay heavier than it looked.
Cameron ignored me that time and just continued on spraying. Stumbling over to him with a bucket filled with icky water, I shouted the words 'tell me' before dumping the bucket on him.
"You're beautiful." Cameron's voice said as water poured around him. I instantly felt terrible, yet relieved.
"Oh." I whispered as he made his hair all crazy by running his fingers through them.
Walking over to me, Cameron looked me in the eyes and kissed my cheek. My jaw dropped and I watched him grab his skateboard, go two houses down and walk inside.
My face turned bright red and I skipped inside like a school girl. I ignored mom's question she asked when I came in and went straight to my room.
Cameron liking me was amazing. And him living close by was awesome too. I opened my closet door and sketches of hearts and M+C filled the interior. It was every girls' dream to have their crush like them back.
And my dream came true.
