"Castiel, nice of you to join us, have a seat before I give you a tarty slip and send you to the office," Mrs. Baker stated as she pointed to his assigned seat. Cas took his seat and while Mrs. Baker turned around and went over to discuss the previous chapters in their classes book for a report that week. Cas laid his head on his desk and rested his head.
"This is Advanced Placement, we expect more from you," Natalie Baker said addressing the class. "It's called 'An Essay on Man' but what Pope's really talking about is faith, right?" As she walked down the short row of students she looked around for a moment waiting for someone to chime in. "Anybody? Did anybody complete the reading?" she waited for a moment before realizing that nobody was going to speak up so she had to pick someone. She focused her gaze on a resting Cas Harlow and then sighed. "Castiel, Castiel Harlow!"
Cas lifted his head and hummed. "Congratulations you're my volunteer, 'Pope, an essay on man, Epistle one." Joanne repeated herself.
"Hope springs eternal in the human breast. Man never is, but always to be blest. The soul uneasy and confined from home rests and expatiates in a life to come," he cited.
"And what do you suppose Pope meant by that?" Mrs. Baker asked.
"Life's a bitch, until you die," he said apathetically with a light grin on his face following the snickers, giggles, and laughs from his classmates around him.
"Okay. Thank you Mr. Harlow for that succinct and somewhat inappropriate response," she said before Cas put his head back down and turned it facing the door as he already couldn't wait to get out of there.
"Actually Mrs baker pope has intentional phrased this quote in this particular manner so that many could interpret his words in multiple ways. So it's almost disingenuous to behave like there is a definitive answer to your question." An articulate and soft spoken voice emerged from the very back of the classroom. It wouldn't surprise Cas that the entire classroom would have turned their attention to speaking in question. Colton rarely spoke he did his best to he invisible and stay under the radar especial after getting hydras attention Unbeknownst to the classes.
Cas glanced over slightly surprised that Colton was even speaking because normally he wouldn't. Cas lifted his head as the bell rang for the end of AP English Lit and he sighed as he reached down for his backpack and put his book in it before standing up and heading for the door.
The teacher looked to Colton with an inquisitive look. "Ahh so he does speak. Mr Johnson you are correct. Might we all aspire to be as perceptive as young Mr. Johnson. Now, I might ask you to you abide by school policy and remove your sunglasses Mr Johnson." Colton ignored her prompting Mrs baker to grant him an after school detention.
The bell rang and Colton observed everyone leaving before grabbing his books and walking towards the teacher Mrs. Baker she was stunning red head with a curvaceous figure the most woman dreamed off. "C'mon Nat, after school detention how am I supposed to do reconnaissance on Castiel if I'm in detention." Colton James Johnson asked his handler and adoptive mother Natasha Romanoff.
The black widow and Colton were both put undercover by shield in order to access one particular student. Natasha answered him "you're not serving detention kiddo but I needed a way to schedule a debrief. After that you can leave. Now get out of here you'll be late for lunch."Natasha stated ruffling his gelled hair. Colton laughed in Response before turning away and leaving for lunch.
'Random locker searches... its the latest tactic the administration has adopted into their losing war on drugs. Except the searches aren't really random. I know when they're going to happen before vice principal Clements does.'
"Cas Harlow...this should be good," Deputy Mitchell spoke as he stood next to VP Clements.
Cas tilted his head with a smile as Vice Principal Clements shook his head before motioning his gaze to the ceiling. "Mr. Harlow, would you please just open your locker" he said tiredly as if he didn't have time for it.
