Tw: paranoia

------ Engineer POV --------------

I awoke to be greeted by the nearly pitch dark of the garage. No grounding indicators of time or reality were present. I blinked open instantly awake with a rush from my body vaguely remembering fear from yesterday. I scoured the room for danger quickly. My sentry was still up thankfully. That makes me feel a bit better. I stumbled over to the light switch turning it on.

Knock knock

The beat of knuckles rang out on the door. I looked over slowly, wondering if i was imagining things again.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

The knocking begin to get impatient, not helping me calm down.

"Öffne die verdammte Tür!"(open the damn door!) A tired accented voice yelled. I sprung up swinging the door open. A frowning medic stood before me, hands crossed behind his back.

"Uh" I grumbled nervously, before settling on a smile and wave.

"Zhe other mercs have bvought me some concerns, eh..., are you doing alvight Dell?" Ludwig asked. The doctor pushed his glasses up, a nervous habit. I stared at the medic for a second realizing it must have been more of a bitchy scowl, from the poor mans reaction.

"Concerns?" I asked. More than anything i was a bit upset and betrayed. "About what?" I knew it, they think I'm a liability. They think I'm going crazy.

"Na, it's notzing really. Scout and sniper zaid you vere "having a freak out". The doctor giggled. Clearly he didn't trust them as the most reliable messengers, hence why he came. I relaxed a little shoving down my irrational flight or fight response.

"I'm good" i finally answered.

The German hunched forward to match my height as he spoke "Ja ja very well do tell me if you have any conzerns" he patted my shoulder with his red gloved hand before spinning on his heel and scampering off in a hurry. I let out a breath i didn't know I'd been holding. I can't worry people unnecessarily, it's a waste of their precious time. We're at war, everyone has their own problems.
I sighed. As my body woke up, I began to hear a low breathy ringing in my ears. I swatted at my ears passively just to be sure nothing was there. Its going to be one of those days again.

----soldier POV-----------
I sat in the meeting room as miss pauling explained some sort of fighting strategy on the chalk board. I hadn't been trying to listen since before she even began. Not that i could understand her notes anyway. Bored, I looked around at the other mercs. The only people still paying her any mind were heavy, demo, and sniper. I looked over to Dell, he sat stiffly zoning in and out of consciousness. Perfect. I slowly slid a paperclip on the table towards me before flicking it at his hardhat.

*TINK* It rang out loud and crisp

"AAAAHG" Engie jumped up knocking his chair backwards. "FUCKING DAMN IT" he shrieked. His shaky hands clawed at his hardhat and goggles, ripping them off before throwing them at the opposite wall. He ran off tripping on his own feet multiple times. There was a moment of silence before everyone laughed a bit at this sporadic display, especially me.
