YAMIRA
"Do not make trouble."
These were the parting words of the King after getting me married to the crown prince.
Now, I am sitting on my husband's bed (I assume) and waiting for his sweet arrival on our wedding night.
It took us seven days to get here and as soon as we arrived, I was brought to this room.
They have no chill. Let a girl rest at least.
The maids giggled and shied away as they set my huge lehenga on the bed and kept a glass of warm milk on the side.
Now that they were gone, it was complete silence. My legs were hurting from the constant sitting in one position.
'Be a good wife and please him at night..'
I might be talented and more experienced than many my age but I have never done THAT.
I can seduce him, yes. I know how to use my feminine charms against a man to get my work done BUT I know nothing of the actual action, at least practically.
In theory, I've known much in detail, I've lived with and heard ladies talk about how they please their men and vice versa.
I guess I'll be breaking that barrier tonight.
Where is he anyway?
Does he remember he got married?
I was about to move to get off the bed when I heard the sounds of footsteps.
They were extremely careful.
I placed back my vile which I had removed after everyone had left, for some air, the sharp noise of my bangles rang in my ears.
I am adorned with too much jewellery. I have never worn such magnificent attire.
It was only during my training period with the princess that I came to know the weight of valuable royalty.
I have even disguised as a boy many times for my missions but this is by far the most difficult one.
The door opened and I looked up through my veil, I could barely see anything though.
Anyone could have entered and I wouldn't have known but this strong presence, this sudden shift in the air, he is my husband dearest.
I gulp as he walked slowly, almost too slowly.
I close my eyes and squeeze my fingers together which were overlapping on my raised knees.
I wait and wait as I hear his footsteps coming towards me with each second.
My heart found speed as he separated the hanging ropes of flowers around the bed.
It's very decorated.
The bed russled as he sat and the next thing I feel is the cold metal against my neck.
What is he-?
"May I ask why..." his words were slow matching the movement of his free hand as he removed my veil off my head, "the princess has a dagger under the pillow while she waits for my arrival?"
A dagger?
I lower my gaze and look at the half-visible dagger.
Shit!
How could I not know?
I should have been more careful.
Someone kept MY dagger under the pillow and I didn't even notice.
It is mine without a doubt.
And this someone very much likely knows who I am.
But how? And who?
I've been careless.
I lifted my gaze and found him mere inches away from my face.
Oxygen stilled in its tracks as my eyes caught his features.
I knew what he looked like from his portraits but they do not do justice to his beauty.
He is absolutely gorgeous.
His sharp nose and tight jaw and carved lips show nothing but magnificence.
I met his eyes which were as golden as his flame is said to be. Deep honey, shining bright but they hold darkness and so much more depth than can be seen from outside.
There are so many intricate details that I can look at his face all day admiring God's unfair creation.
Why did he have to make a human this deadly? His one glance can bring girls to their knees.
I was lost, I completely forgot about the situation we were in until one end of his perfect lips curved into a smirk.
He looks like a fox in human form.
Sly and clever and sharp.
Even I didn't notice the knife but he did, he is really something.
"Perhaps, you thought I was some man-eating goblin and you kept such a dangerous item for your safety?"
And his voice! It was so rusty and raw that I wanted to rub myself all over it.
"Or maybe....someone wants to frame you?"
I blinked, unable to find my voice.
What is he thinking?
I just cannot get through to him for some reason.
My mind was all over the place but I did not let anything show on my face.
He slightly moved the dagger in his hand and I took in a sharp breath.
We looked into each other's eyes for what felt like an eternity.
Why can't I say anything?
It's like I've lost my voice.
I can't even think straight at the moment. This is so not like me.
When he realized he was not getting an answer he closed his eyes just to open them again, "I assure you, a knife wouldn't be enough to take my life, love, far from it."
I knit my brows together, my first visible reaction to his words.
"I'll let it go this once. Consider this my wedding gift. First and last. I won't be this merciful moving forward. It would be better for you and my peace that you stay away from me behind closed doors. I do not wish to have ANY kind of relationship with you. You can live the life you want as the crown princess but do not expect anything from me beyond that. You will be provided anything you need and you'll get the respect you deserve. But keep in mind, that this marriage is just an alliance and nothing else. Any wrong move, and I'll burn the Vyaghra into Golden ashes within minutes."
Remember when I said that only those who have royal blood and the crown can use their powers?
Yeah, not this guy. He was able to use his golden flame since he was a baby.
He released his hold on the dagger and it fell on my lap.
He came closer, his lips almost touched mine. I could feel his breath on me and his warmth all around me.
"And I won't be marrying anyone else so you don't have to worry about not becoming the Empress. You see, I am a one-woman man."
I lowered my eyes when he winked at me as he finished his sentence.
I wish I could punch that smug beautiful face of his.
He got off the bed in an instant and in the next, the door closed behind him and I was again alone in silence.
I could finally move my limbs and breathe like normal.
I took the glass of milk and gulped it all in one go.
'Please him at night', my foot!
Here's another chapter!
