Chapter 1

Your POV

"We lost another squad last night." I sigh, sliding the report over to alpha Akande, his gaze softening at the pictures of the dead soldiers, "They're getting onto us now. As you know this is the third squad this month."

"Once more they show how heartless they are." Alpha Gabriel growls crossing his arms, "I say it's about time we get on their level."

"No. If we do that then we abandon our principles. I will not allow it." Akanda growls his gaze flickering to the other alpha's before returning to me, "Thank you Y/N. You are dismissed."

I nod saluting the two before hastily making my exit. Once the metal door slid shut my shoulder slouched, my thoughts once more returning to the forefront. I had joined Overwatch around five years ago, where morale and hope was still high. That's all changed. Over the years Talon's numbers soared and were able to draw support from countries all over the globe. Because of this Talon didn't hesitate to start wiping out our Overwatch agents across the world. We've been attempting to stop them but it has little to no effect.

"Hey what's got our chica frowning hm?~"

I turn, spotting alpha Sombra and Captain Lecroix approaching me, the shorter woman wrapping her arm around my shoulders.

"It's nothing." I sigh, running a hand through my hair, "I'm just thinking about Talon."

The two frown, Olivia pulling me closer to her, "Relajarse, we'll protect you. We won't let them get close to our little omega~"

"What do you mean by that?"

"Huh?"

"You said our omega. What do you mean by that?" I reiterate raising my brow at the two.

"Merde." I hear Amelie whisper, my attention being drawn back to Sombra as she removed her arm from me.

"Oh well you know you're quite popular on base. A lot of the soldiers here care about you despite your status. None of us here in Overwatch would want to see you get taken by them."

"What had you thinking about Talon?" Amelie asks, steering me away from the subject.

"We lost another squad last night. Talon killed all of them. It's just another reminder at how powerful they've become. It makes me feel like I can't even do my job effectively anymore."

"Don't say that." Amelie snaps earning a warning look from Sombra, "Mon amour how many times have we reassured you about your job and its effect? Many of us wouldn't have been here if it weren't for you."

"You do an excellent job." Olivia reassures, gently shaking my shoulders, "Just because they're growing in power doesn't mean that you're not doing your part effectively."

Their words have little effect and I only nod silently in agreement. The two frown once more and I remove myself from the alpha's embrace.

"Thank you but I think I'm going to retire for the night."

They nod, but Amelie's hand grabs mine, halting my movements. She places a kiss on my knuckle causing me to blush as I look up into her golden orbs.

"Just remember we're here for you okay? If you need anything, don't hesitate to reach out to us."

I nod, my blush worsening as I quickly walk away from the pair. Thankfully my thoughts switched from Talon to the pair, thinking about their change of behavior towards me over the past few months. When I first started I didn't see the pair too often, except for the few times I was placed on missions with them or when they were in the infirmary. Although after getting my promotion to captain last year I ran into them more often, therefore spending more time with them. Their behavior also changed. They seemed to be wanting to spend more time with me, and our conversations turned more flirtatious.

"Perhaps they're just getting close to my rut." I whisper to myself entering my dorm, "I need to pay more attention. If that is the case then I need to stay away from them for a few weeks. Don't want them to trigger my heat. I mean it's not that I don't like them, it's just I don't want to find out while their or my lust is in control."

I couldn't help but mewl it over as I got ready for bed, changing into my pajamas and flopping down on my bed. I roll around in my blankets for quite some time, the fabric wrapping around my body as I begin to grow comfortable. I grab one of my pillows, hugging it to my chest as sleep finally reaches me. However just as I close my eyes to go to sleep my holoscreen goes off forcing me awake.

"Who dares disturb my slumber." I groan rolling out of bed.

I walk towards the holoscreen, picking it up and clicking on the notification while I sit down. My brows furrow as I see a message from alpha Gabriel.

'Y/N I need you to meet me in my office for a briefing on an upcoming mission. It's top secret so don't tell anyone about this.

"You've got to be shitting me." I groan, pinching the bridge of my nose, "Well I can't ignore him since he'll just barge into my room later during my precious sleep."

I stand up, the chair scraping against the floor. I swiftly put on something more formal, leaving my room and heading to his office. After a few greetings and some small conversations with some other soldiers I finally made it to the alpha's office. I knock and wait for a response.

"Come in."

I open the door and quickly close it behind me, "You wanted to see me sir?"

"Indeed. Sit." He states gesturing over to the seat across from him.

I sat down just as he started talking, "As I said I have a mission briefing for you. You may not like this but we need someone to do this. I want you to go undercover into Talon."

"WHAT!?"

He swiftly glares at me, "Keep quiet Y/N. Akande and I don't need the other to find out about this. We suspect that there is a spy in our ranks and we need to find out who it is."

"But why me? I have some experience but it's mostly medical."

"The ones that are trained would immediately be sniffed out. As a support you're under Talon's radar making you the perfect agent for this mission."

"But what if I get found out? Who knows what those alphas will do to me! Oh wait, I know what they'll do." I huff glaring at him.

"Look if anything goes south then click this," He hands over a small device with a red button on it, "It'll immediately alert us and we'll come for you, no matter where you are."

I flip the device around, eyeing the back, "And do you have any suspects on who the traitor is?"

"Our only suspect is Moira." He sighs, leaning back in his chair.

"What? Why would our doc work with them?!"

"We don't know. That's another motive we hope you can find out."

I sink further into my seat as the seriousness kicks in. This mission is dangerous no doubt. If I get found out they wouldn't just kill me outright, they'd most likely torture me for information. Although on the other hand if I'm able to give them some insight to how Talon runs, or even better, how we can get a one up on them and possibly beat them then it would be worth it.

"So will you take up the mission?" Gabriel asks observing my battling emotions.

I take a deep breath, closing my eyes before meeting his, "Yes."
