Chapter 21

A few weeks later…

Upon my return to Overwatch I was met with quite the welcome. Word must’ve gotten around after my return, with more and more soldiers coming up to me and giving respect. I also got a promotion to Commander. However those weren't the only good things that happened-I ended up officially getting together with Alpha Sombra and Widowmaker. Though Talon made sure to offset those happy moments. Their attacks had grown more frequent and more brutal. We were losing more and more soldiers by the day, the thought weighing heavy on my conscience. 

“What’s wrong mon amour?” Amelie asks, sitting down next to me on the wall.

“Talon.” I simply state rubbing my hands nervously as I pictured the angry faces of their alphas. 

“Hey, we told you not to worry about any of that. Everything will be fine, you’ll be fine.” Olivia joins us sitting down on the other side of me. 

“I can’t help it.” I sigh leaning into Amelie’s hold, “The reports are getting increasingly worse. I can’t help but think-”

“No. Stop right there.” The French alpha huffs, “Nothing you’d do or would’ve done would change this outcome.”

I bite my tongue knowing that arguing would lead us nowhere. I feel Olivia intertwined her hand with mine, softly rubbing her finger across my knuckles. Amelie’s hand drifts to my hair, gently running her fingers through the locks. I couldn’t help but relax in their touch, a deep purr resonating from my chest, drawing the two alphas closer. I could feel the mood shift as their alphas took over, Olivia’s lips finding themselves in the crook of my neck. The shorter alpha kisses and nips at the thin skin, Amelie’s hand drifting downward whilst she watched. However just as her hand slips past my waistband it stops, the two stopping their motions as they take back control.

“I think we should take this somewhere more private~” Amelie whispers, placing a kiss on my temple. 

“Before we lose control again~” Olivia follows up, placing another kiss on my neck causing a shiver to run down my back. 

I smirk, giving them a devious look whilst I removed myself from their grasps. I make my way back to the door, it opening as I motion for the two to follow. Neither had to be told twice, Olivia jumping from her seated position and rushing after me. Amelie shakes her head when the shorter alpha swept me off my feet, rushing towards my room. I giggled at her actions and I couldn’t help but be thankful that I ended up with two caring alphas such as them. 

The next morning…..

I stir from my slumber, fully expecting two warm bodies encompassing either side of me. However when I opened my eyes I spotted no one. I frown sitting up in my bed, looking around my quarters for either alpha. Neither one was in the room, and their spots on my bed were cold meaning they left some time ago. I couldn’t help but feel upset as I got up, preparing myself for the day. They’d never done that before. They always stayed with me whether they woke up before me or not. Surely they could’ve left a note!

I huff fixing my vest as I left my quarters, doing my best to keep my emotions at bay while I traversed the halls. I pass a few soldiers, them greeting me with smiles or salutes which I happily returned. As another squad passed me I recognized the sergeant, the beta having worked closely with me and my two alphas many times these past few weeks.

“Sergeant Xay.” I speak, causing the squad to halt their movements.

“Yes Commander?”

“Have you seen Commander Amelie and Commander Sombra this morning?”

“No ma’am. I haven’t seen them since last night. Did you need-”

The beta is interrupted by a loud explosion, the shockwave shaking the whole base. Alarms quickly followed suit, Commander Reaper’s voice echoing over the intercoms.
