Chapter 9

Later that evening…..

Your POV

I was still unnerved by what happened in the infirmary. I mean there was no reason for Mercy to do that with no signs of major injuries. I was beginning to think that she had done that to see me exposed. I’m brought out of my thoughts by knocking and I sit up with a sigh.

“Who is it?”

“Your wonderful neighbors! Who else would it be?” I hear Emma respond. 

I approached and opened the door leaning against its frame as I looked at the group of omegas.

“What is it?”

“Well we wanted to congratulate you on completing your first mission and the higher ups approved of letting soldiers go into town for some downtime. We wanted to take you out to celebrate!”

“Uh huh and where would we be celebrating?”

“The club of course!” Rachel interrupts grabbing Emma’s shoulders with a smile.

“The club?” I ask my gaze shifting towards the two males, “You two agreed to the club?”

“After much debate, yes.” 

My attention is returned back to Rachel and Emma who were practically giving me puppy eyes. 

“C’mon it won’t be bad, besides we don’t get many opportunities to go into town. It would be a nice night to not only celebrate but to blow off some steam too! I mean all of us saw your face after you returned from the infirmary…”

The girls were right. It wouldn’t hurt to have a distraction for the night.

“Alright fine I’ll come.” I smile pushing myself off the door, “Just let me change real quick.”

“Yay!”

I laughed at Rachel’s small shout and I quickly changed into something more casual. After a few minutes I walked back out earning some more cheers from the group. On our way to the vehicle bay we ran into Ryan who quickly agreed to join us. Once in the vehicle bay, boarding a transport with some other soldiers who seemed to have the same idea as us.

“Hey did y’all hear?” One of them speaks up, grabbing our attention.

“Hear what?”

“Apparently the captains were given permission to go into town too.”

“Yeah so what? They’ve been allowed to do that before.”

“Yeah but this time they actually took it.”

“What!?”

“I know right? I didn’t expect any of them to take it. Especially since Alpha Pharah and Mercy appear to be workaholics.”

“You’re telling me! Who else is-”

I zone out of the conversation laying my head against the cool metal. My thoughts once more taking me out of the presence. This time they drifted to Olivia and Amelie, imagining their pissed off faces as they demanded an explanation from Captain Reyes. Olivia was probably cursing at him in Spanish while Amelie attempted to calm her down. I’m jerked from the funny thoughts when the truck came to a stop. I let the others unload first quickly following suit, our group immediately making a b-line in the direction of the club. I heard the music before I saw the club, it being a double floor facility with lights and music blaring. Rachel directs us to the VIP line, and after showing the bouncer our tickets we were allowed through. 

We all cheer as we make our way inside, the music immediately deafening our senses. Rachel leads us to one of the few open booths, it not being far from the dance floor. The others and I began to discuss what to do first but I soon noticed that Ryan was still quiet, his gaze stuck on the second floor. Upon noticing my gaze he spoke.
