before the morning sun rises and I open my eyes
before I get out of bed and walk straight into the shower
before I sing my first song of the day or say my first words
I would like to thank you for your kindness and making me feel loved and heard
before I get dressed in my hottest fit
before I spray on too much perfume
before I debate taking the bus or paying for rides
I would like to acknowledge all that you do
before I step foot out the door
before I get into the car
before I step out onto campus
I want you to know, you are no bore
before I finish the last day of school
before I see you again
before we plan a day out
I want you to know where you stand
before we go to the beach
before we feel the warm sand
before we see the salt in the waves
I want you to take my hand
before I walk in the water
before you walk in with me
before we walk into together
I want to put this beautiful day on repeat
and repeat
and repeat
and repeat
and repeat
and each time our heads go under
each time we cross the bound
each time we have our last time seeing each other
each time we drown
our very last thought
before our last breath
is to go to before we met
and live this life we've lived
over

and over again
