clouds cover me

I lay here
Bare
Sunken
Yearning for a glimpse

Clouds cover me

Hovering
Slow and foggy
Barely touching me
High enough to reach
Low enough to blanket me

If you were a bird, you wouldn't see me
Please be the sun so I can feel thee
I want the warmth
The glow
The sunlight
The rays
I want to be covered in something whole

I don't want to be in the cold
Alone
Covered by the clouds
Unseen
Sad
Sunken
Please uncover me!

But the sun only comes around so often
The weather changes daily
But for me I lay here just the same
And the more I stay stuck in my world
The more I yearn for yours

Please break these clouds away
Blow them with the winds
Cut them with a knife
Split them like the red sea
I need to see your light

And on the days I do, I bask
I enjoy you
I live in the moment; such bliss
I'll never feel such love like this again

And just like how fun all good things are,
They must come to an end
You must move on
And I must stay here
Yearning for the rays forever
Hating the clouds that keep me from you
Wondering how to break through

I would follow you where ever you go
But my place is on the ground
Maybe one day I could be a star too
How does it feel to be the thing that people see?
How does it feel to be wanted?

I know that the warmth and heat can feel unworthy to give
But I'd be the first place to soak in your sun each time
For you deserve the world
And I would gladly give you mine if another wasn't enough

And here I lay
Bare
Sunken
Yearning for a glimpse
Clouds cover me

Maybe you'll come today
Maybe you came already
And you see the clouds beneath you
And I'm simply forgot
