After the long bus ride, the group of students arrived and were met by a large gate. As the gate soon opened, they were all met with awe at the sights. Desert Winds Academy, the most prestigious school for heroes in all of Japan and most of the world. Yahiro and Saito were in amazement at what they saw. Students who stuck around for the summer, professional heroes left and right, and finally, the grounds where the trails were being held.
As everyone got off the bus, they were met by a single teacher wearing a simple uniform. "So! You all are either the new students or the youngest group of villains ever. I am Mr Montaro, and you will refer to me as such! For those of you blissfully unaware as to what is going on today, you are here to compete in our great trials. These trials will decide the order in which you are placed when classes officially start."
Mr Montaro continued on. "There are four possibilities. You will either be placed into the main class where you'll focus on becoming a licensed professional hero. There is the class for those of you more suitable to be a support hero. You know, healing and supporting the pros. The technological classes are for those of you more experienced in building gadgets and using those to fight, and finally, general studies. Surprisingly, some of our students who attend Desert Winds don't have powers and yet present a great intellect. We excel in pushing what their minds are capable of. Now, follow me."
Mr Montaro would lead the class toward a large facility. Once entering, Mr Montaro would disappear, and his voice could be heard over the intercoms inside the building. "So, the trials are simple enough. You all will be placed in our makeshift battleground, and we're going to send our 'villains' after you. These robots will attack you, so you must use your powers to defeat them. There are 150 robots within this city and even a hidden boss fight. The goal is simple: defeat as many as possible."
In a hidden room overlooking the facility, Mr Montaro would be accompanied by countless other heroes, all watching the group of students. "You are all being watched and judged based on 3 points: how you utilize your powers, how you handle each robot, and finally, how heroic your actions are. With that being said, step up to the line and wait for the signal."
Yahiro would look around at everyone's determined looks. Kanamoto would stare at the gate leading into the fake city and would clench his fists. Saito would run in place so fast that nobody could see his legs move, and even Toji would prep himself. As everyone waited, an alarm went off, and the gates opened. In a flash, Saito would be the first to run into the city, soon followed by everyone else.
"That kid, Saito Ichimuji. He's got an unfair advantage. Higa Montaro, the teacher from earlier, would take notes of Saito's eagerness to fight. The other pros would watch as these students all took down robots left and right. "We went from 150 to 124 in the first 30 seconds. This new group works fast."
In the fake city, Yahiro would fight off the robots and gain himself some points. As he ran throughout the city, he saw everyone using their powers to take down robot after robot. He saw Toji using his sand to rip them apart, and for a split second saw, Saito punched several before running off to fight more.
As Yahiro ran, he was suddenly hit by a robot corpse. As he pulled himself up, he saw Kanamoto standing over him with a blank expression. "You don't belong here, Yashmoto. Just stay down." Kanamoto would walk away to fight more but was stopped as the ground began to shake. Blocking the lighting in the facility, a giant robot that towered over all the buildings began walking throughout the facility. Over the intercoms, Montaro would speak up. "Looks like the final boss is here! Good luck!"
In the watching booth, the heroes would stare at the robot, many in shock at this. "I didn't know we upgraded from last year, Higa." Higa Montaro would smirk at this. "This was a secret project of mine. Adds some real consequences to the trials. It won't hurt them, though."
