MT took Ben to his lair and dropped him on the cold hard ground, without giving any thought to it. He snickered at the look on Ben's face but hid it for his sake.
The building looked abandoned and old. The roof was devoured with broken beams, with holes that rain can easily leak from, and the paint on the walls was starting to peel off. Lights were flickering, and candles were all around to light the area in place of the dim lights.
"Watch it!" shouted Ben in frustration as he was dropped. He stood up and dusted himself off.
"Is the plan working? I did what I was asked to do," MT said. His voice was deeper than his real voice- he used it to scare off people. At least that's what his boss always told him, "I was told I'd be updated."
"The only reason you are still here is because you said you could help my friend. And that girl in there is his daughter. You told me you could help!"
"I tried, Ben! You can't blame me for something that is out of my control. You told me all these things I've done but I can't remember! I did all I could to help him, now please stop!"
Ben stayed silent for a moment. So he really was dead. Somewhere in his mind, he hoped that all these years it would be a lie. Some trick used to make him turn.
"How about we have another deal?" MT suggested.
Ben looked at him with a curious glisten in his eyes. MT continued talking.
"If nothing else is told to either of them- nothing else has to happen, right?"
"You really think you have control here, don't you? Well, you don't."
"Will you say anything else about this or not?" MT growled.
"Not another word..." Ben answered.
"Good. Because I think there's been enough suffering. I'd think you'd agree. Maybe not-"
"Suffering is a part of life!" Ben called out, "It can't be stopped nor can it be chosen. "
"I'm going to talk to the girl. Like I was ordered to," MT walked away, heading into the cell room.
He was tired of all of this, he just wanted to know what was going on, and who else needed to be dragged into this. He wanted to know if anything he's been told is true.
MT unlocked the door of the cell room, went inside, and locked it again to be sure no one followed him. To make sure Ben didn't follow him.
He went up to Lea's cell and stood there in front of her. She didn't turn around, nor did she say a word. He wasn't sure if she ever would.
"I- have a few questions for you-"
Lea stood still. She wanted to go home, she just wanted her brother back. What did he want from her, and why?
"Lea- I'm not going to hurt you-"
"You kidnapped me!" Lea finally turned around, "And you expect me to believe that?"
"Shh!" he said, "Okay, I see your point, but I promise I was only doing what was ordered-"
"What is it with it being no one's fault!? It has to be someone's fault and if it's not yours and it's not Ben's then-"
"He told you that?" MT asked in shock. He started laughing and Lea was surprised, "That's insane. I see the game he's playing," He hit the wall and it made Lea flinch.
Does that mean Ben lied- or was this man lying? She couldn't see his face- only the hood he was wearing. She didn't know who to believe or what to do. How would she get out? How could Ron find her? He was probably worried sick.
