Ron woke up tied to a chair. The last thing he remembers is confronting Ben about what Jessie had said, and Ben's eyes burning with anger.
"Ben." Ron thought, "What did he do? Why didn't I just go with Jessie?"
The sun was burning his eyes through the single window he could see out of. He couldn't see much of anything besides the top of the trees in the forest.
Once his vision adjusted, Ron looked all around and came to the conclusion it looked like a village shed. Besides the window, there were wooden walls surrounding him. He looks to the right and there is a man with blond hair and blue eyes.
"Who are you?" Ron asked. He saw he was tied up too. It made him think of what Jessie said about Ben.
"He's the puppet master. He's calling the shots, and he's the reason for everything. He is the one you should be after-"
If he had only just listened to her, maybe he wouldn't be here. And if Ben was the master...who took Lea? Was it-
"Shocked you don't recognize me..." Mason said breathing out, "About time you wake up."
"It's you. You're the one who took Lea-"
"Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner-" he said sarcastically. He winced and Ron noticed an IV coming out of his wrist and golden liquid in the tube.
"What's going on, MT?"
"Might as well call me Mason at this point," he sighed, "And Ben is what's going on. He has us kidnapped. Hardly any way out."
"Hardly-?"
"Shh-" Mason whispered, "He's still around, you know. We can't be loud."
"Is Lea okay?" Ron whispered, "You've been with her right?"
"Yes," Mason answered, "I went to her in a dream...at least until Ben found me."
"What?"
"I have certain...abilities. But that's beside the point."
"And what's the point exactly?"
"Man, you're just like your sister. So inquisitive," Mason chuckled thinking of her. He longed to be with her, but he knew that may never happen again.
"Yeah, and so what? We are trapped, tied to chairs, and you-" he nodded his head towards the IV, "are being experimented on."
"Not quite."
"What is he doing to you then?" Ron asked, glancing at the IV. Mason just looked at it and snickered.
"He's trying to take my powers. I know they won't work for him. But-"
"But-?"
"Never mind that. I promised Lea you wouldn't get hurt. And I can't uphold that promise if you are still here."
"Do you have some brilliant plan?"
"Not yet-" Mason winced again, and Ron wasn't sure why he cared. Maybe it was what Jessie told him, or maybe it was the guilt of what he wanted to do before.
"You okay?" He asked.
"Sure," he replied.
"I'm sorry...I was going to work with him to kill you. You didn't do anything-"
"You know nothing about me. You have no idea about the things I've done. And besides- you didn't join him. That counts for something."
"I guess so. But what-"
"Shh!" Mason said quickly. Ben entered the room, grinning from ear to ear.
"Finally you're awake. Sorry for these circumstances my friend," he turned to Ron.
