Lea and Jessie were tracking through the forest, trying to get to Mason's location. It was silent and all they could hear was the snapping of twigs, and the slight breeze.

Jessie knew exactly where she was going- she's been studying and researching this war and this location for years now. It was the only thing that made her believe in a type of magic.

This was the only topic that kept her on her feet after her dad left and motivated her to keep taking care of her mom. It was all that kept her going for a while.

"We have to get there-" Lea said.

"We will!" Jessie reassured. Though it didn't ease Lea's mind. She kept thinking of the story Jessie told her back at the hideout. 'They could die.'

She needs to see Mason again but she doubts Ben will ever let him go back into her mind. Or anyone's for that matter. She can only hope that they are safe. And close.

But if they aren't close what's plan B? And even when they do get there- she had no idea where they would go from there. How are they supposed to save Mason and avoid Ben?

Maybe they couldn't avoid Ben. She knew that Ben would come back after them no matter how many times they escaped from his grasp. They can't run forever...they won't.

"Jessie-" Lea started, "You mentioned the powers only comply with those who use it for good."

"Yes, that's right." Jessie nodded, "what about it?"

"If we are right and Ben is trying to take Mason's power...what would happen to him?"

"Ben?"

"Yeah. With Mason, you already told me-" Lea stopped. She didn't want to think about that right now. Losing Mason and her brother were the last things she needed to think of.

"I don't know. But nothing good."

Lea stopped as Jessie kept trotting. She looked at Jessie for a moment, before she noticed. Jessie gave her a confused look and backed up to Lea.

"You do know what happens. I can see it in you're eyes."

"That doesn't mean I have to tell you anything."

"Why not? Please just tell me! What would happen to Ben?"

"It's alarming-" Jessie warned, "Can you handle it?"

Jessie continued walking and Lea rushed to catch up with her, "Tell me."

"The power doesn't belong to them- and they are using it for either a bad use or an impossible reason. The power could literally eat them from the inside out. Breaking their bones, engulfing their insides, expanding into the outside, and eventually they'll be nothing but ash and dust because everything else was taken, or crushed."

Lea stared at the ground for a moment, trying not to imagine the scene but failing. The thought of all that happening to someone made her sick- even if they might deserve it.

Ben deserved it. He kept Mason hostage all his life and turned out to be a low-life of a father who doesn't deserve to be in the same room as his son.

She wondered when this whole thing started, and if her father ever knew the truth about who Ben really was. Did he find out? Was he working for him too, and she didn't know it?

If Ron could trust Ben this much while being a psychopath right in front of them, how could she ever trust that her father wasn't the same kind of person?

Or worse...he wasn't working for Ben- but he had found out everything...and that's the reason he died. Ben could have killed him, just like he could do to Ron. And this time it was her fault.
