The next day passed the same way, with her brother working, and her being left home alone. Until it was night when it was different. Ron was working overtime, but Lea couldn't decide if it was because he needed a moment away from her for a while.

No one suspected anything, not even her big brother, and the more she thought about the secrets, the heavier her chest felt because they shared everything. She tried to convince herself that it was only cause he was never around, but let's admit it...she was petrified.

She didn't know how Ron would react, or how he'd feel about her having these questionable feelings. He would just know, that MT took her, and he should stay out of their lives. Forever.

She got on her bike and started heading towards the answers to her questions, towards the base, towards MT. The closer she got- the more anticipation pulsed through her.

It's as if when she met him, he planted a root of adventure, and the last time she got to see him it sprouted into a small leaf. She wanted it to keep growing because it's been the only thing to make her feel alive.

When she arrived she snuck around the back and waited there. She saw a forest right behind where the base was. No windows, and no doors on the building's wall back here.

"I hope I'm in the right place..." she whispered.

"You are," he walked up to her but he had his hood on. She so desperately wanted to run over to him and take it off, but that seemed too abrupt.

"You're here," she said. She didn't know why she was surprised he came as if she was used to getting let down. And maybe she was because life dealt her a bad hand.

"Yes. We did agree after all. What do you need?"

"You know you don't have to wear that around me right?" she added. She couldn't stop herself from going to move the hood but he backed up.

"I have to wear it out here. People could see."

"But-" She looked around herself and saw the forest...but she saw one area of the forest where there was just a tree trunk. She wanted to go over there but-

"You still haven't answered my question. Why do you want to see me so desperately.?"

"I had a question-" Lea answered reverting her attention to him.

"And, what's that?"

"Why did you let me go?" MT looked away and backed up a little bit.

He was tired of hearing that question from his boss, but whenever she asked it, he knew the answer...he just couldn't say it. How could he? It sounded...strange to him.

"I- I don't want to hurt you. I don't want to hurt anyone. I know what happens if he has his mind set on something and I couldn't be the reason something bad happens to you."

"Who?"

"I can't. I'm sorry...I can't tell you."

"I can't help if you don't let me-" Lea said quietly.

MT let out a laugh and turned away rubbing his hidden face with his hands, "Trust me I am beyond help. I've seen a lot of hurt and pain...most by my own hands. I never wanted to hurt anyone but I've done horrible things..."

"MT-"

"It wasn't my fault. No- it was, I just- I didn't mean to. No, it was an accident." he stared at his shaking hands and tried to take a deep breath. He felt the fear, and he knew he did terrible things but he just couldn't remember them.

He remembered the things he'd done while working here- he remembers his mother's voice and one moment with her he hopes to never lose. But what had he done before that? And what else has he forgotten after all this time?
