June 1st

Angelina's POV

"We're here!" mom says getting out of the car to go inside the house. After what felt like hours being in the car we finally made it to the beach house. We literally spent 6 hours in the car. It looks like my Tías and cousins got there before us which is new. I got out of the car and took a deep breath smelling the salty air hearing the sounds of the waves crashing. I put my book into my bag, closing the car door, walking to the back of the car to take my suitcase out of the trunk.

"Lina!" my dad yells "Ayuda me con las maletas por favor" he says. Silently I sigh before saying "Okay pa". I walk to the back of the car not before dragging my younger siblings with me. "Oww!" Both my siblings say in union "Come help dad and I with the maletas" I tell them. I walk towards my dad helping him hearing my siblings muttering "okayy"..

Once we get all of our stuff inside the house I go to the kitchen to say hi to my tias. I can hear my mom and tia's talking about what we're gonna do while we're here. I first go up to the woman with long curly hair similar to mine, my Tia Carmen. "Hi Tia Carmen'' I say, "Hi mijita, how are you?" she asks while she gives me a hug. "Good '' I tell her as I walk to the shorter woman next to her known as my Tia Ximena. "Hi tia '' I tell her while giving her a hug. "Hi mija" she tells me while squeezing me.

I hear footsteps coming from behind me and then next thing I hear is "ANGIE" yelled by my two younger cousins Camila and Damien. They run to me engulfing me with a hug nearly tacking me down to the ground. "Hi Cami" I smiled at the younger girl who's a carbon copy of my Tia Ximena. I give her a hug and turn around to give my attention to the younger boy with a darker complexion known as Damien. "Hi Dae'' I smile at him and give him a hug of his own.

They quickly turn their attention to my tias and their moms. "Mom can we go to the beach please" Camila and Damien say, dragging out the e they're already in their bathing suits. "Not yet wait until everybody is settled" says my Tia Ximena. "Why?" says Camila. "Angie, can you take us to the beach?" Damien asks, looking at me. My mom, Tias, and Camila are all looking at me. Shit

"Um-" before I can even say anything my little brother Diego says "Can I go to the beach with them" asking my mom. "It depends on Lina and if she wants to take you guys." my mom says, looking at me. "I can take them" I tell them "Just let me get changed okay?" "Yay!" my brother and little cousins say in unison. My little brother rushes out of the kitchen to go to the room he's sharing with my two older cousins to change into his swim shorts. "We'll wait for you in the sala" says Cami.

 "Here mija" my Tia Carmen says handing me a bag with some snacks for my cousins and brother which I take with gratitude knowing how they get when they're tired and hungry. "I'll call you when you guys should come home okay? Be careful corazon" says my mom while she walks to me engulfing me in a hug. "I'm gonna go change, I'll see you guys later" I say while walking out of the kitchen in the room I'm sharing with my little sister Isabella.

"Isa, do you want to go to the beach with Cami, Dae, Diego, and I?" I ask her while walking to my side of the room. She looks up at me from unpacking her suitcase "No thank you" Isa says. "Okay" I tell her, opening my suitcase, pulling out my blue floral bikini and some shorts and a white tank top to put over my bikini. I walk into the bathroom that's in our room and change.

I get my tote bag and put on sunscreen and put the bottle into my bag. Along with the book I was reading in the car, a water bottle, the snacks my tia gave me, a towel, and my phone. I put on my sandals and walk down to the living room. "Are you guys ready to go?" I already know the answer that they'll give me which will probably be a "yes" with some attitude added to that. "Yess Angie" my little cousins and brother say in unison, giving me attitude in the process and I was right.

"Okay okay geez no need for the attitude" I tell them they just giggle and get off the couch. We walk to the kitchen going out the door that leads us to the sidewalk that takes us directly to the beach. "We're leaving" I tell my mom and tias who are making a list of groceries we need. My dad is with them standing next to my mom. "Okay be safe!" I hear my Tia Carmen say before closing the door.

Pa: Dad

Mija/Mijita: "dear" or "honey" in spanish slang literal meaning "daughter"

Corazon: "love", "sweetie" "sweetheart"

Sala: "living room"
