🌊 Chapter 11 🌊

Angelina's POV

A week later

Logan and I have been texting back and forth getting to know each other and become pretty good friends. Although for some reason we can never seem to find the time to hang out in person. Our hangouts consist of calling or on FaceTime. Not to say that I'm not hanging out with my family because I am but it just feels nice talking to someone different.

Mari was right. I did need to get out of the little world that I've built inside my head. But it's kind of hard when it's all you know. I've grown to find comfort in these characters whether they're words on paper or a character on my tv screen. I've traveled to so many places without having to leave my room. I've fallen in love hundreds of times and have experienced heartbreak at the same time. The heartbreak is from when a character dies or if the love interest betrays the main character.

A buzz from my phone pulls me out of my thoughts. It's from Logan

Logan: Meet me at the beach in ten minutes

The beach? Why? I'm already in my bathing suit from going to the beach with my family earlier today. I threw on a tank top over my bikini top since I was already wearing shorts and put on my converse. I grab my phone and some cash, stuffing it in my short pocket. I see my mom in the kitchen eating "Hey ma I'm gonna go out okay? I'll be back home before it gets too dark" I tell her "Okay mija be careful please" she tells me.

I walk out through the back door closing the door behind me. I'm walking towards the beach when I get a message from Logan telling me that he's already there waiting. I'm wondering what it is that he has planned. The beach is pretty much empty when I get there aside from Logan just standing watching as the waves crash into each other.

"So what is it that you have planned that you needed me here in ten minutes?" I ask him as I walk closer to him. "Don't worry I'll make sure you're home by nine or whatever time your curfew is' ' he says. He nods his head "Come on there's an ice cream parlor nearby and Emery is dying to meet you" he says "Who's Emery?" I ask walking beside Logan. "My best friend Kai's girlfriend" he says "Wait so you're taking me to meet your friends?" I ask.

"Yup I was going to wait a little longer but the guys and Emery demanded that they meet you now" Logan says, turning his head to look at me. "Kai won't really speak but once he warms up to you he'll talk more. Emery is the definition of sunshine but she will talk your ear off about animals and nature. Then there's Darnell he's well he means well" Logan says. "What do you mean he means well?" what the fuck is that supposed to mean?

"I promise you that you will be okay. I promise you'll get along great with Emery" he says "So Darnell is basically like a bully?" I ask him "No well sort of if your name is Emery James but most of the time he's a complete weirdo or a grump you don't know what side of him you're really gonna get with him" Logan says. "Ahh I see" I say, I think I'll be okay hopefully. I won't lie when I say I'm nervous but if all goes well I'll make three new friends.

"Alright enough about them, what ice cream flavor are you going to get?" Logan asks me as if he can sense me overthinking. "Hmm, it depends on what they have either chocolate chip or just plain vanilla" I tell him "Just plain vanilla?" he asks almost like he's judging me. "Hey there's nothing wrong with vanilla, sure it's probably boring but it still tastes good" I tell him he just laughs. "Okay then what flavor are you getting?" I ask him "Strawberry or chocolate" he says. "Okay those are boring as well" I tell him.

"No they're not, at least they're better than vanilla" he says "I am not going to have this conversation of which ice cream flavor is better with you" I say. Logan just laughs "Alright fine, any book recommendations for me gorgeous?" he asks. What's up with him calling me gorgeous? And he's asking me for recommendations? His mom literally works and owns a bookstore. "Depends, did you finish The Cruel Prince? And do you feel like reading another fantasy?" I ask him.

"The ice cream parlor is just up the street" he says "But to answer your question yes I did finish the cruel prince took me a little while but I finished it" Logan adds. "I will not take any criticism about The Cruel Prince" I say. Logan laughs "I'm not going to criticize it don't worry it's obvious that it's your favorite book but just to let you know I've already started the second book" he says while opening the door to the ice cream parlor.

He whispers in my ear "Was just hoping you would recommend something with a little more romance" I look up at him "I can do that" I say.

I love every song on this album so much. But what's your favorite song off the album? I know I said I love all the songs but as of right now my favorite song is Let It Happen.
