Times have changed. People are threatened now more than ever. The extermination clock has been cut in half. Overlords are in a panicked state. All the souls in hell are doomed. The last extermination was a brutal showcase of heavens powers, and now it was no different. In fact, it would likely been worse. Hell is in a state of discord that it will likely not come back from.
And now, hell is on the brink of all out war. People are no longer afraid to stand against the higher powers. People are demanding more of the overlords. People are right to demand more protection from those that rule over them. The higher powers should be doing more to consolidate their power and save the souls they own...
Vox:...and so us at Voxtek are proud to introduce the official launch of Angelic Security! Trust us with your safety!
I watched the live broadcast, I didn't understand the allure of that guy. He just seemed to be an egomaniac. Or maybe he had some sort of power that I just didn't understand.
I carried on strolling down the street. Chaos and carnage everywhere you looked. It was pitiful. And after an eventful meeting with Carmilla in which it ended early without anyone having an input, I was now going to meet with Vox himself. He always keeps trying and failing miserably to recruit me, it's become one of my many sources of lovely entertainment.
My names Vesper, and overlord that goes by a V initial, that doesn't actually work with the Vees. I hated their malpractice and mistreatment of souls and employees. Yes I owned souls, and yes I had people work for me, but I wanted them to willingly come to me as a last resort, not like the Vees who hypnotise them into selling their souls away. That's not the type of person that I am. But maybe they could sway me with a few concessions.
I doubt it. I'm a morally driven man. Not a money driven one. I do things for everyone's benefit, not just my own. And while I do benefit and get stronger from it, that's not my mission.
And so I made it to the Voxtek Mega Tower. It was a grand old building which was blue and bright and made to look like a big city skyscraper. Completely ruined the look of the area as it was a big blue building in a sea of red. I hated it. But I walked inside anyway, even if it was to fuel my ego for the day. Anytime Vox begged me just made me happier everyday. And so to the reception lady I went.
Reception: Here for the boss again?
Vesper: Do you even need to ask at this point? He calls me here enough and I'm surprised he doesn't realise I'm toying with him.
She rolled her eyes and laughed.
Reception: Go on through Vesp.
I walked over to the elevator and got in. I was so used to it by now that I pressed the button to his office without even looking. That's how many times he'd tried and failed to get me on his side.
I went on my phone while the elevator went up. It took a while, approximately 33 seconds if I had counted correctly, to reach his office. Ain't that sad, I've been here that many times that I even know how long it takes to reach his office. I'm surprised he hasn't taken the hint to just give up yet. It's actually kinda annoying sometimes how persistent he is.
Ping!
The elevator opened and I walked into his office, not taking my eyes off my phone. I sat down across from him without even looking.
Vesper: Make it quick so I can go back to something actually productive for once.
Velvette: Rude.
I looked up and noticed the girl that actually managed to make the usually composed Carmilla tick. Velvette was her name. One of the three Vees.
Vesper: Is Vox getting sick of me? You're the girl from earlier right? Nice to meet you, you seem like someone I can work with.
I reached out for a handshake. She shook my hand and sat back.
Vesper: So, onto business then...

Boom! Chapter 1 of the new story done already. If you're reading one of my books for the first time, I'm the creator of The Raven and The Dove. If you haven't read that one before, you should check it out, I've just finished season 1 of it and I'm writing this book before I get to work on season two.
Anyway, enough about that, this is my newest project. A story about Velvette because despite how annoying she is, she's one of my favourite Hazbin characters. I wanted to write this before the Emily one but the Emily one I had more ideas for until now. And so now that it's finished, my attention will be on this and on a summer special of The Raven And The Dove.
As always, let me know what you think. I hope this book does well as I do with all my others. And if you have any requests, let me know. That's all for now. Enjoy the ride folks.
