Warnings⚠️: mentions of cannabis

☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎"Why did you save me the other night?" Dabi wondered as we pulled out of my apartment complex in his deep blue Kia Rio. "You should have called the police."
"I should have called the police?" I inquired, annoyed he was even asking this.
"I know you know what -who- I am," Dabi said. "I'm not a good person, Kazemi."
"So? You're still human aren't you?" I asked rhetorically. "I wasn't about to let you bleed out on my kitchen floor, Dabi. Even if you're a villain, you still need help sometimes."
It was quiet for a moment, the only sound was the radio that was on a low volume.
"I wouldn't call myself much of a villain anymore." Dabi finally broke the silence.
"What do you mean?"
"I've been off the radar for five and a half years,"
"What do you do now?" I asked.
"I mostly sell weed and kill people who owe the League money," Dabi said. Indeed, I could smell how strong the cannabis was in here. It smelled nice. Fresh even.
"So the Dabi on the news...?
"That's old news, darling," Dabi scoffed, shaking his head. "The government doesn't want citizens to keep talking about corrupt heroes anymore since 'heroes are still good people'. Just a load of bullshit."
"Oh," I was not shocked. The government has changed. Evil is evil, good is evil; I never see the greater evil anymore, or the greater good. If that makes any sense. "I don't watch the news much, anyways."
Dabi hummed as he turned onto the street that would take us downtown to Inari's.
I ran my ring-covered hand through my black and white hair, pulling the long strands over my shoulder. I smirked softly at Dabi in my peripheral vision when he grinned at the hickies I didn't take the time to cover. I didn't cover all of them, just the ones that weren't SFW; you'd only be able to see them if you were looking at them in the right lighting and angle.
"Why?" He broke the silence again.
"I just don't. It's emotionally draining enough with netizens' opinions on everything that's not their business."
Dabi chuckled deeply, the sound made my stomach flutter.
"Do you live under a rock, Kazemi?"
I huffed, my cheeks burning. "I know the important shit or else I wouldn't carry a gun."
Indeed, I had my gun strapped in its holster on my thigh. If I didn't have a license I wouldn't leave it anywhere on me. Society today is chaotic with corrupt heroes and ambitious villains. I'm not going anywhere downtown without something to protect myself.
"I've done unspeakable things, Kazemi, not just 'bad' shit," Dabi's knuckles turned white around the wheel, his staples strained. My stomach dropped as the car accelerated in speed when he said, "Some were orders, others I've done myself."
If "others" means the people he's killed, I'm certain he wanted to do most of them.I waited for that to scare me.
It didn't.
He was trying to scare me to make me scared of him, but we had just fucked like rabbits less than 12 hours ago and I can barely feel my legs again. In 2 days. Dabi couldn't try and scare me if he tried, and if he is trying, it's not the right way.
"What?" Dabi asked when he saw the funny expression on my face.
The look on Dabi's face when I started laughing was priceless.
And it wasn't your 'normal' laugh. I was snorting and my stomach started to hurt as tears sprung to my eyes. It took me a few moments to catch my breath.
"You really do have selective hearing, Dabi!" I wheezed.
Dabi's brow twitched in imitation and I almost started laughing again.
"You were dying on my kitchen floor, my quirk helped you heal. You're just lucky I knew what I was doing." I shook My head incredulously at the villain next to me.
"How — How does your quirk actually work?" It took him a moment to think of he was going to pry.
I shrugged, pushing a strand of hair behind my ear.
"My quirk takes pain away immediately when I touch someone and due to a mutation I can't feel pain unless it's serious or severe." I explained, "It's been like that since it manifested at 8."
"Damn," Dabi cleared his throat, grinning mischievously. "That's why you like it rough, baby doll?"
"Dabi!' I groaned, embarrassed. A deep blush bloomed on my cheeks as I covered my face.
Dabi laughed deeply.
I just want to unbuckle this seatbelt and —
"We're here, baby girl."
Damn it.
☠︎︎☠︎︎☠︎︎
To say I was nervous would be an understatement.
The second I walked into the boor, a beautiful woman with brown hair and hazel eyes strutted up to me in tan wedges. She wore an ankle-length summer dress that hugged loosely at her soft curves. She held out her manicured hand to me and I gripped her hand in a firm handshake.
I was slightly startled by her confidence. It was admiring; she didn't seem bitchy, just nice and pretty.
"Hello, I'm Kazemi Sayuri." I blurted, plastering on my best professional smile.
If I don't get this job, I don't know what I'll do.
"Nice, to meet you, Kazemi," The woman said. "Im Sakura. Since we just lost our best bartender last week, I will be hiring you today. When can you start?"
