Chapter 13

The packaging was really good. And the samples that are sent are good. The material of the clothes are soft and quite fashionable. It's just that the design is too rigid and out of place for me.

My sister liked two dresses and I gave them to her. She went in to try them on and also to see if she has everything that matches with it.

Since the weather is a little warm and breezy. We decided to go for a floral themed  party . Something which will remind people about the beautiful nature and they can also wear light and colourful clothes.

I selected a few dresses which I know will be so good for Bennet sisters. But I have to show them to my brother first before sending them. And I have to select one for myself.

And I am very confused right now. What should I get for myself? And Frankly why I need a dress ? Well , it doesn't hurt to get new things from time to time. This era has a set of fashionable dresses which I don't like .

And the gowns I would like to wear well they will be too much for this time. Why it's so complicated to pick a dress for the ball which is not even going to be about me.

I do have a red gown but it's so plain and it looks like I am going on my own wedding and not on a ball. What should I do ? Clothing business is going to be hard for me. I have to work hard to learn about the clothing and qualities of clothes before I start.

I do have a plain clothing and I think I can make it fancy before the party. I will stitch some flowers and decore in it and it will look lovely on me.

I wrote a letter for Elizabeth a letter and send few dresses along with the letter. I know I was going to ask my brother first but he is clueless when it comes to dresses and stuff like that. I explained everything and told her to select a dress from the lot for each sister.

I told Philip to bring me some neddles , string and other materials. My sister tried her dresses and she loved them . One of her dress needed little touch up which I did it for her. After all that it was time for lunch.

After lunch I put my gown in a stand and started stitching it. I will add few more flowers and few jewels and it will look amazing.

" You amaze me everytime" came a voice and as I looked up I saw Darcy walking in the reading room where I was working. " What is their to be amazed about? " I asked him still stitching.

" You're stitching...I remember if your clothes were not up to the mark you would burn it not style it. " he said casually sitting down on a nearby chair.

" How well you know me Mr Darcy. But since I am trying to start something new , I thought I should learn something new too. " I replied to him. He didn't said anything and took a book from a shelf and sat down again.

He started doing his work while I worked on the gown. I think I will keep it simple and elegant. Its nice to have a company like it where we both do our things and just be there together.

" Why do you look like a old married couple ? " asked Mr Hurts. He slowly walked in and sat on the sofa in the corner of the room.

" I think your mistaken Mr hurts. " I told him before Darcy and why I feel like that's not the answer he was expecting from me. " Trust me... married man of eight years here is telling you. The way you guys are just enjoying each others presence without showing it is cute. " he said taking out his cards and shuffling them in his hands.

" I am working " , " I am reading" Darcy and I said it together. Mr Hurts just laughed and didn't made any further comments about it .

" I guess Caroline is too busy to play cards. " Said Mr Hurts. " I can play with you. " Said Mr Darcy walking over to him. " You don't like Playing cards. " I reminded him.

" I don't like doesn't mean that I can't play cards. " he said joining Mr hurts. Why the roles reversed ? Caroline never played cards cause Darcy dint like playing cards. Why is Mr Darcy playing cards now ?

I didn't mind them and kept doing my work. I could hear them make some remarks about the game and laugh together. It's nice to see Mr Darcy talking and making friends. It's such a rear sight.

" Here you are and I was looking for you. " Said my brother getting inside the reading room , what made me think that I can work in peace?

" You were looking for me or Mr Darcy? " I asked him. " You ofcourse, I knew I will get Darcy wherever you are. " he said while sitting down with Darcy.

" That's not correct..." I said little forcefully. " We did find him with you. How rude of us , were you both looking for solitude? " asked Mr Hurts with a teasing smile.

" No ...of course not. I was working, he was reading...that's it. " I told so manage the situation. " In the same room ." Said Mr Hurts in a whisper. I almost glared , Mr Darcy is not going to like those jokes. But he didn't said anything.

" Since when Darcy plays cards " asked my brother. " Seasons are changing, we may see new things more often. " Said Mr Hurts and laughed with my brother.

" That's it no dessert for you
Mr Hurts. " I threatened him . " Hey that's not fair. " he said but I didn't pay him any attention. So they started talking and I started doing my work.

Soon that ball with come when Mr Darcy and Elizabeth will dance and talk about room and other things. Three Bennet sisters have left for the acedamy so they are safe from that stupid guy.

He wouldn't come in the party which is a relief. And the story will go in its normal pace I guess. Again Caroline will not get Darcy in her life. I don't know...I knew the story. I love the original couple but why ? Why I am so sad ?

I looked up and watched him play games with my brother. And a sudden reminder came in my mind that, he isn't mine. And that almost brought tears in my eyes. I looked down and started stitching again and pinched me finger this time.

I should be careful, can't wish for something which isn't mine. He has feelings for someone else. " Carole...did you hurt your finger? " Said Mr Darcy and before I could say anything he was holding my hand.

" Of course you did..." he said inspecting my finger and I could hardly keep my tears in. Why is he so caring ? What will I do ? What should I do ?
