Very late at night the party came to an end. Everyone is ready to go home. Carriages are ready to see off the guests. I had a really good time with my family today.
Brother is still talking with Jane. I am sure that both sisters will talk about ball tonight. I told Darcy to help Elizabeth to get up in her carriage.
The Bennet family left together. I stood near the door watching them leave. " I think we should leave tomorrow. " Said Mr Darcy. I don't know when he walked over here to stand with me. But here he is.
" Well , what are we going to tell my brother? Why are we leaving? So soon ? When he is perfectly happy where he is..." I told him pointing to my smiling brother.
" He may be happy now but are you sure that this is going to be a happily ever after thing ? " he asked me. I am sure it is but they need the time apart. They need the time to realise the depth of their relationship.
" I am sure it will but I am willing to listen you. " I told him. He gave me the biggest dramatic expression ever. He said " I am soo honoured...but am I know exactly what made you listen me. " he asked in a teasing tone.
" When two people are too close for a long time they don't understand the depth of their relationship. But when they spend time apart ....they value each other and the bond becomes strong." I told him. Don't know if he understands what I mean.
" Or by staying apart they can feel that they're not meant to be together. And he finds someone else more attractive ...what than ? " he asked me in a challenging tone.
" Well I am not saying that it's not possible. It's just the way of looking at things....and I tend to have a positive outlook on things. " I told him while waving to one of the gentleman who tried to flirt with me all night. It's so nice to have some attention.
" What are you doing? " asked Darcy when saw me wave. " Waving goodbye to that young man. " I told him. He took a look and than back to me. He literally stood infront of me blocking my view and said " Carol I am talking with you. "
" And I am flirting ...now move. " I told him and moved him aside. " Carol...I am having a serious conversation here...all attention on me please. " Said Darcy standing in front of me.
" Mr Darcy, what do you want ? " I asked him with an annoyed look in my face. " Your attention... we're talking about future of your brother and you're flirting. " he said with a sly smile on his face.
" I am concerned about my brother but I know he will do just fine. All right you have my attention...go ahead..what you have in your
mind ? " I asked finally looking him into his eyes." You.."he gave a brief answer. Than he understood that he wasn't very clear about his expression so he explained" I mean to say you don't have to say anything, let me do the talking, you just agree with me. " and well that makes sense.
I mean he will not have me in his mind right. So I understand, I nodded. I think that's a good idea. And since we are going back , I have no idea what they did in town. So I am planning to go back to my mother's house, start my work.
The theory he said about distance, well I am planning to apply it myself. I have to distance myself from him or I will be in love and I don't want that. Can't break the classic couple.
" Guys ...if you're done with what you're doing...can we go back inside...it's late. " Said Mr Hurts. I snapped out of my world and looked towards him.
" We're just chatting Mr Hurts... about something we have planned. " I told him and well he looks curious. " I have prepared something for you and sister to enjoy. " I told him. Since it was evening party , it winded up pretty early. And the night is still young.
" And what's that ? Trying to escape together? " he asked in a jolly mood.
" Nope but trying to save you...it's your anniversary today...did you forget. It's 12 September already..." I told him and he realised that I was telling him the truth." Oh ! Dear I haven't arranged anything for her. She will be mad at me. " Said Mr Hurts looking concerned. " She will not... follow me." I told him. Mr Darcy followed us out of curiosity.
I took him infront of the room which I decorated for him and my sister. " Now it's your plan, you wanted to surprise her , she loves jewellery and you know that... that's why you're giving her this gift. " I told him giving him a jewellery box.
" God bless you dear...you saved me. And this room...reminds me of my young days. " Said Mr Hurts with shinning eyes. " I am glad you liked it. Sister will be here in a minute...she is in new gown...her ball gown was blue in colour... don't forget. Enjoy. " I said to him.
He went in with a smile. Philips mother brought my sister who is looking stunning in the green gown. She is looking shy and not arrogant like written in the book. " Sister go brother in law is waiting. " I told her showing the door. Her cheeks turned pink.
" You naughty girl. " She said and went in. " Well Mr Darcy....I guess it's a good night. " I told turning towards him. " No I need to know what was that ? " he said showing towards the door.
" Oh ! That... sometimes women want to get noticed, adored...it's not necessary to observe every detail but some notice from a loved one is very admirable...like you wouldn't know what ear rings I was yesterday...only ..." I was going to continue but his words stopped me.
" Green earrings with little diamonds around it , square shape ear rings..." he said and I don't know what to say to him. " You're a good observer..." I told him. He isn't interested to look at me with such details. It's just he has a good memory.
" Thank you... and about remembering details I will remember your tip carol. " he said. " Do remember what your beautiful eyes wore today...will be helpful in future. " I told him.
" I like it when your eyes wear that emotion... good night Carol. " Said Mr Darcy and left. Wait what has he said ? I have to leave soon or I am done for. I can't afford a headache... I can't. Now I wonder how will I watch him marry Elizabeth? How ? I have to control myself...I have to..
