Caroline ( POV )

His eyes were finally on me, his expression is no longer cold, it's much warmer and he looks happy... I don't know why. " well, in that case.. I missed you too carol. " he whispered. I could feel my cheeks burning.

I remained quiet, not knowing what to say next to him. " Carol... We meet after weeks and you barely say a few words to me....that's too little for a person who claims to miss me. " he said in a teasing tone.

" what should I say? I guess I don't have anything super interesting to share. " I told him. I dont know why the plot is changing? They were not suppose to be here today. 

" No officers story to share? Anyone special.... Anyone you admired by everyone but designed for you? " asked Mr Darcy. Well, not that I havent kept my eyes open its just my standards are super high now.

" Well, tonight the only gossip will be about that cold and aloof young man who danced with only Caroline Bingley... Old money.... Good catch. " I said eyeing him. " So your saying I am a good catch.... Hmmm but not enough for you. " he said, is he teasing me right now?

" oh I don't want to make many enemies so I am not competiting. We may see some parents coming in our house for introducing their daughters with you. But who will tell them that this one is taken by two beautiful eyes. " I told him. Still trying to fix the plot.

" well, I didn't know about that. " he said with a smile. " so, how is my brother? Enjoying life? He forgot Miss Bennett right? " I asked him. I known the answer still I am going to answer.

" Well, distant theory is not for everyone. Not when someone is already in your mind. It makes you miss that person even more. " said Mr Darcy after thinking about the matter. Is he agreeing that he is wrong? He is admitting his mistake?

" Your brother will take time but he will forget her and move on. " said Mr Darcy with confidence. " wasn't it suppose to happen two weeks ago? " I asked him. " weren't you suppose to stay and help me? " he asked like I am wrong and he is  soo right. Like I betrayed him.

" I don't remember saying anything like that, moreover I thought he was perfectly fine with you. " I replied to him. " He is.... Its just sometimes you need time to forget some people. " said Mr Darcy.

" You're doubting your ' Distance theory ' Mr Darcy? Isnt that an affective remedie? " I asked him in a challenging tone. " well, I guess not for everyone. " he said and we both laughed. We talked about people, food and many other things. All of a sudden that dull party was full of life.

I laughed, danced and that was amazing. At the end of the party we all came back in my house. Rooms were cleaned for the parties so they went in their respective rooms to sleep.

" Here is your room Mr Darcy, sleep tight. Tomorrow it may be a big day for you. " I told him and he smiled. He leaned little forward and said " Good night carol " and went in his room. Heart.... Start working.

Morning time.

My mother got the scare of her life when she saw all of them early in the morning. She went about saying ' why didn't you wake me? ', ' A messy house and nothing to eat ', ' what will they think? ', it took time to explain her that everything is fine and everything under control.

I had to send lydia to one of my friend, she stays next city. My friend Margret is an excellent dress maker. It would profit lydia if she learns from her. I send her as early as possible so that no one can see her.

Asher Moonstar, is going to be here today to talk about the event in his house. If it becomes hit than I can get supply of clothes from him. That would be amazing. Have to work hard to make this customer happy.

Mother has spread variety of things in the breakfast table. With the most expensive tea in the house. She made some delicious cakes. " If I only knew about your arrival, I would have prepared more " said mother.

" You dont have to be formal with us Mrs Bingley. " said Mr Hurts. I served him an extra piece of carrot cake and his smile widen. " Hope you all will be staying here for few days. " asked mother.

" we plan to stay here for a week and than I will head out. I have some important business to attend. " said Mr Darcy, well he will go to visit lady Catherine and meet Elizabeth there. Just perfect but why it hurts to think about it?

" only a week. Thats really a short stay. " exclaimed my mother. " Mother he is a busy man, its natural that he is busy. But even I wish you could stay longer. " I told Mr Darcy, dont want to be the one who wants to shoo him away.

" well, about that....I was hoping to take Caroline with me... " he said and that stopped everyone, all eyes on him now. " she hasn't been on prembly for long. My sister is missing her. And moreover sister will be coming home after her education. I want to throw a party for her arrival. And also to look for her future husband. I need help to arrange the party. " said Mr Darcy, I am confused. Not about the party, about the fact that his sister misses me.... Since when we became that close.

" Thats really thoughtful, thinking about your sisters future. You're a good brother. " said my mother. Well that isnt intentional but doesn't that hurt my brothers pride, that as a brother he is not doing anything.

" I think if marriage happens in the friends circle, with people you know, people you can rely on, is good. So have to start looking from now. " said Mr Darcy, looking towards me and than he focused on my mother again.

" My brother knows financial growth of a woman is important for a woman than marriage. And I am grateful to have such a wonderful brother. " I said while placing another scoop of mashed potatoes in his plate.

" I don't think I can acompany you Mr Darcy... I am busy. I have many projects lined up here and very little helping hand. " I told him, I really need to draw a line between us before it gets too serious. " But carol you will do more business in london than you do here. " stated Mr Darcy, did he just called me by my nickname infront of the whole party. Wait thats not even my nickname. " Carol.... " my mother said with a smile.
