A week later, after the dreadful masquerade ball...
It was 4 am.
The sun was just beginning to heat up the lands from the nighttime. The birds were chirping quietly, and the breeze was biting with chill. The sky was a pale blue complimenting the lack of clouds.Inside the bedroom decorated with purple colors all over, was Kokichi, laying in his fluffy bed with his thick covers, his bright purple eyes lidded with irritation.
He had woken up way too early, and he was quite annoyed.Kokichi sat up slowly, running his fingers through his messy bed head. His chilled room made him shiver once he pulled the covers off his legs.
He swung his feet off the side and stood up from the bed, reaching his arms above his head as he stretched, his eyes screwing shut. It was quiet. He could hear his breath, and it was increasingly dreadful.
The troublemaker glanced around his decorated yet empty room. His chest...tightened. the crippling feeling of loneliness was back, and he didn't like it.He stood there like a deer in headlights, in his pajamas, completely unsure of what to do.
He couldn't go back to sleep,he didn't want to. What could he do to get through the rest of the morning? Who could he go to so early without bothering them?
Then it clicked.
There was somebody he could bother without giving a damn. Someone who would eventually cave and cure his boredom... and loneliness, all without any sort of compensation. With a smirk on his lips,Kokichi grabbed his fluffiest pillow from off his bed and ran to his bedroom door, his steps light and silent. He quickly opened his door, slipped through, and closed it back with a soft click.
Now he stood in the chilly hallway, his eyes quickly darting to his next-door neighbor's room. He knew what he had to do. Bother Shuichi. He was the one less likely to shove him away and force him to go back to bed alone.
He approached the closed door of the North prince and knocked softly. He waited... no answer. He knocked again, this time with more force, causing the sound to echo down the luxurious hallway.Still,no answer.
Kokichi puffed his cheeks in anger. He didn't want to break down Shuichi's door to attract attention, but it was starting to look like he had to. Maybe if he tried the handle?
He grabbed the cold piece of metal and pushed it downward, then it clicked. The door opened. The South prince had to bite back an audible gasp. He couldn't believe it worked.shuichi forgot to lock his door.
He quietly opened the door just wide enough for him to slip through, and once inside,he closed the door back and locked it like it should've been. Way to live on the edge,Kokichi thought to himself. Did Shuichi know nothing of royalty safety?
Who knows when some envious, vengeful commoner would sneak into the castle and assassinate all the heads of the Four Directions?Shuichi could've died first without a locked door.
With light steps,he walks over to Shuichi's bedside. He saw how snuggled the bookworm was in his thick sheets, only his head visible while his body was swallowed by the bed. His face was relaxed, and a soft tint of pink dusted across his cheeks as the cold got to him.
Kokichi realized it was getting colder nowadays.Kokichi sat on the edge of the bookworm's bed,his head tilted as he observed Shuichi's gorgeous face for a couple more moments, then he took his index finger and poked Shuichi's cheek.
"Mmh.."
Shuichi stirred, his expression disturbed. He nuzzled further into his pillow, ignoring whatever dared to awake him.
"Cute."
Kokichi snickered to himself.
He continued to poke at Shuichi's cheek, leaning closer and beginning to whisper...
