QUARREL LOVE.

I woke up to everybody still in their rooms. Chase had already for practice. I looked through the cupboards to see if there were any pancake batter. I got ahold of one and began to make breakfast.

"Oh goodmorning Cynthia!" I turned around to Sean in a rush. "Goodmorning, do you want some pancakes? They'll be ready in 5-" "Oh thank you, as much as I would love to, I'm kinda running late right now!" he grabbed his phone off of the counter and rushed to the front door. "I'll see you later!" and the door closed.

I shook my head in disbelief, knowing I'll have to get used to this. I giggled to myself for a bit.

I heard one of the doors opening, it was Devin. "Hey."

"Hi."

He stood beside me while I was making the pancakes, "Are these ready?" pointing to the plate of pancakes on the side. "Mhm."

"Nice." grabbing the plate of pancakes and placing it onto the table. "I think these pancakes are enough for the both of us."

I turned around and gave him a confused look, "But these are not just for us? I'm cooking some more for when Chase and Sean  gets back." he made an "Oh" face. I chuckled and turned back around.

"I heard the news, about you."

My heart dropped.

"Oh did you now..?" I asked, my back turned to him. "Cynthia.." I felt his touch on my shoulder. "I know you didn't do it. I know that's not you. It's unlike you." comforting me.

I just stood there, not saying anything. "Oh. I'm sorry I shouldn't have brought it up." apologizing. I got back to my senses, "No, it's okay. It's everywhere, it's bound to happen anyways. People knowing." I turned off the stove and grabbed myself a plate of pancakes. Taking a seat on the table. He followed behind.

"So.. how have you been doing for the past 4 years?" he asked me, starting a new conversation. "I've just been you know, working and trying to sell out and promote products through my modeling but since this happened. I guess I'm here now." he chuckled, "No, I meant your social life, not your work life."

I felt a bit embarrassed, "Oh well, despite working 24/7 I've been going on blind dates that my friends have set up for me. Talked to many people but I can't find the right one that just clicks with me, you know?" "Oh." he nodded. "What about you?"

He cleared his throat, "Well, I've just been focusing on myself, and helping out in the nursing homes. I met this girl, Maru and she's amazing and talented. I asked her to be my girlfriend and now we're going 10 months strong. Her family has a nursing home here and so I moved to this place to help out. I think you'd really love her."

I smiled at him, "Wow, I'm so proud of you. I'd love to meet her sometime, I'm sure she's delightful." I gave him a pat on the back.

We both finished breakfast and I went back inside my room. I didn't have a motive to do today. I was planning on rotting in bed all day. But since this place is a remote area, I'll take advantage of it.

And so,

I decided to look for a job! To start off fresh, away from the city and drama! Restart my whole life!

I got ready and put my hair up in a ponytail, with two curled strands in the front.

"Where are you going?" Devin asked, slouched on the couch. "Just around the neighborhood." "Oh okay."

I walked out and sucked in the fresh air. I began to look for stores and restaurants.

I was rejected by many of them except for,

"Oh miss beautiful! Welcome to Red Fish! What can I get for you?" this elder lady greeted me. "Oh hi! I'm actually here to apply for a job, are you guys hiring?" she looked at me with joy. "For you we are hiring! Actually no scratch that, you're hired! You can start now, oh! I'll get my grandson to help you get started!"

I was surprised. No literally. Already hired? They must be in need. Either way, I'll take it. And I love this lady already.

She brought out a dude with tight brunette curls and is a decent height. "This is my grandson, Nick, Nick this is our new worker, uh what's your name young lady?" "Cynthia, Cynthia Choi." I introduced myself to both of them.

"Oh beautiful girl with a beautiful name and face! Cynthia! Well I'll just be in the kitchen, Nick show her around." patting me on my shoulder before walking away.

We both stood there just looking at each other, he covered his face in embarrassment, "I'm sorry about my grandma, she's like this with everybody. None of them lasted longer than 2 days. You can run now if you want." I laughed in his face, "What? Are you serious?"

He furrowed his eyebrows, "Yes, what- why are you laughing? What's so funny I'm so serious." I continued to laugh in his face. My stomach began to hurt. "Oh come on, your grandma is so sweet. I think I'll love it here." he smiled at me.

"I'll show you around and what to do. Your schedule will be sent to you later. What's your phone number by the way?"

We exchanged phone numbers and began the tour.

"Thanks for showing me around. I'll make sure to work really hard!" balling up my fists and throwing it up. He chuckled at me and fist bumped me. "Do you, uh, by any chance live anywhere near here?"

"Yes I do, I live 20 minutes away from here actually!" he nodded his head, "You new here? I don't recognize you at all."

"Mhm! Just yesterday I moved in with my cousin, I didn't have anything to do so I applied for jobs around here but none of them accepted me." I made a sad face. He chuckled once more. This guy really is something: it's either that I'm funny or he's just trying to be nice by laughing at my sarcasm.

"Hi there! A table for two please!" I looked at Nick and he motioned for me to show them their tables. I got to it.

After a couple of hours passed, it was time to close. Mrs. Grajeda had already left and it was just me and Nick.

"Are you going to walk home?" he asked me. I looked at him with a confused face, "Ahm yah? That's my only transport." we both laughed. "I'll walk you home, it's dangerous for a girl to walk home at this hour." I nodded my head at him and smiled.

Nick and I gotten close within that 6 hours of working together and I became super comfortable with him.
