About a week has passed. Me and Devin are offically awkward with each other. When it's just us two at the house, we would make small awkward interactions with each other that aren't intentional. For example, actually bumping into each other when we're in the kitchen.

As for me and Nick, we've been hitting it off. We have been going out a lot after work to eat out. It's probably as an excuse to take me out and spend time with me, which I don't mind at all. He's a sweet guy and I enjoy spending time with him. Of course I'm not that oblivious.

"You mentioned living with your cousin, how is it?" he asked me, stuffing his mouth with food. I waited for my food to fully go down, "Well- it's not just my cousin who I'm living with. It's me and Chase, and these two other guys. We're all renting the house." he made an "Ah" sound and just nodded his head.

"How are the the guys?" I started off, "Hm.. well Chase, I'm used to how he acts." I laughed, "And Sean, he's a busy guy I can't lie. I rarely see him around except when it's dinner. Then there's Devin... my ex."

Nick choked on his food and I was quick to pass him a glass of water. "Are you okay?" I asked startled. He took a sip of water and took a deep breath in. "Yeah, I'm good."

It became silent after that. Awkward as I expected.

We finished eating and he paid for our food in which I insisted on paying but he refused. He dropped me home and just as I was about to go inside. He pulled me aside.

"Cynthia I- I know this is too soon but ever since you walked into my grandma's restaurant like a lost sheep, I just fell in love with you. You were this pretty girl who came from the city and out of nowhere, appeared in front of me. I don't know how else to put it. I like you Cynthia."

I looked up at him with admiration. His words just rolled off of his tongue smoothly and it was reassuring.

"You don't have to say anything right now. I just wanted to let you know." he continued.

"No.. no I want to say something now. Nick, I like you too."

A smile grew on both of our faces as we stood
there in front of my house, looking into each other.

"May I?" he asked,

"You may." I smiled.

He pulled me by the waist and hugged me. I let him
embrace me and I placed my arm around his neck as it fit perfectly. He looked down at me and then kissed my forehead. I looked up at him and smiled.

He is just so sweet.

My heart melted and I placed my head onto his chest. He continued to embrace me and he placed his hand on my head. Stroking my hair.

As much as I wanted this to last for forever, it was cut short when he reminded me that I had to go inside now. I refused and wanted to stay longer with him, but he confirmed with reassurance that we'll spend another day like this tomorrow. I shot him a smile and went inside.

I shut the door behind me and was disappointed when the first person I was met with, was Devin.

I sighed and took off my shoes and walked past him. "So is he your boyfriend now?" following me to my
room.

"Devin, please leave while I'm being nice." he scoffed at me and grabbed onto my shoulder. I stopped dead in my tracks and turned around to remove his hand off of my shoulder. "Leave." I told him, looking up at him with soon to be anger. He shook his head, closing the door behind him and locking my door.

"Is he, or is he not, your boyfriend?" he asked once more. "You didn't answer me the first time."

I rolled my eyes at him and began to do my regular routine while he was in the room. I placed my phone and bag on my vanity and removed the ponytail I had on.
